Welcoming, comfortable and convenient

What a great experience from start to finish. The welcome was friendly, the room was spacious, clean, comfortable and heated. The complimentary coffee & cake was brilliant. We stayed here to visit the castle which was an easy 30 minute walk. We also walked into Füssen for dinner, which was a beautiful walk in the snow. We would definitely recommend the Landhotel Guglhupf.

Country hospitality!

Very friendly country inn with the most amazing breakfast and cakes thrown in for good measure in the afternoon. We walked all the way to the castles from there. Also Füssen is a manageable walk away, car would probably be better. You receive free bus tickets for the area, but the busses during our stay were full and did not let us on. We didn't mind the walks.

We were 3 people, two in the main bed, which was quite comfy. However, our (adult) son slept on the secondary bed in that room and that was unbelievably uncomfortable and only had a tiny thin blanket thrown on, almost like an afterthought.

Old-fashioned hospitality still exists.

Excellent location for visiting the castles as it's only a few minutes drive to the meeting areas; room was super clean, comfy bed, the best pillows I had in my travel across Germany, gorgeous views - you can see Neuschwanstein from the balcony! We got breakfast included which was well worth it, with plenty of options and good food. The hosts are such nice people and were communicative right from the moment of booking. Check-in is a breeze with the option of self-check-in if you arrive late. Plenty of free parking. Good restaurants in close proximity. The hosts provide a link for a free bus pass and discount on castle tickets (dont forget to use it like we did!) Fun fact : Gugelhupf means bundt cake, which you will find as a courtesy each day in the common area along with complimentary coffee and tea. Highly recommend this hotel.

Excellent

I loved everything. Great location, available parking space, great breakfast and lovely staff. The room was comfortable and had a nice view. We could even see the Neuschwanstein castle from the backyward. The location was amazing and with easy access to Füssen. A free bus ticket was also available. There was also free coffee and a delicious cake.

I disliked the fact that we stayed only 2 nights. :)

It is okay, the staff and location definitely raised points of this review.

The location is wonderful! You can easily see both castles from the window if chosen the back side of the house as we did. The staff is also good, i enjoyed the customer service. The breakfast was also okay.

A slight problem might be the fact the each floor shares one fridge. The dividing being made by the numbers of the rooms on each shelf of the fridge. It wasnt a problem for us, but can become one if you have bad luck with the other visitors.

Incredible view from Mountain Viewroom

Lovely location, we opted for the Mountain View and our balcony presented Neuschwanstein castle with hohenschwangau castle to its right which was breathtaking. Not far outside Schwangau, ample parking, cake and tea/coffee free in afternoon and great friendly informative check in guy

The breakfast was the best we had anywhere in Germany. The variety was excellent. Our room was spacious and comfortable. We liked the proximity to good restaurants and Neuschwanstein. The staff was excellent

Very nice and would definitely stay again

I really liked they provided a pass for free bus service and other discounts. I like that they provided great information and access to a refrigerator. The bed was very comfortable and the balcony was a nice bonus. Having a table and chairs to sit at was unexpected and handy.

Like all rooms in Europe, the bathroom was smaller than what is typical in America. There is no A/C, but a fan of some sort would have been appreciated.

Friendly family run hotel.

Family run hotel, excellent breakfast, coffee/tea room to make drinks outside of hours. Ideally situated for the two castles. Walking distance to Fussen and Schwangau. Our room had mountain view.

We woke up late for breakfast due to jet lag (you get an assigned time when you arrive). When we went to the breakfast room we were greeted and sat anyway even though we were over an hour late. The staff was extremely friendly. We were even asked if we had special breakfast wishes.

Very good hotel

Staff very friendly and helpful. Location is very near to the two castles and you could walk if you are reasonably fit. Breakfast good and free coffee and cake in the afternoon. Rooms spacious. Nice walk into Fussen, better than parking there. The property is better than the photos show.

Bed is too low but was comfortable. Hot water is a bit variable when having a shower so runs hot then cold - don't think that the mixer is thermostatically controlled.

self check in is easy and great. the room is large and has a terrace and a bathtub. the terrace is amazing with a view of the castles, and we had the most wonderful experience of watching the full moon raised right after the new swan castle. there are several free parking space which is nice.

there is no lift, but that acceptable since we lived on the third floor.

Quaint, Clean, and Comfortable. We loved our stay!

Absolutely loved the reception we received when checking in. The gentleman was helpful in answering all of our questions and gave a great recommendation for dinner. Breakfast the next morning was excellent with a great variety of food choices. Very clean. Beautifully decorated for the Christmas season.

We love animals. However, 2 of my family members are allergic to cats. There was a sweet and friendly cat that roamed the reception area and the the snack room, and the dining area where we ate breakfast. That was the only drawback for those 2 family members- started some allergic symptoms of itchy eyes, nose, throat, etc. Nothing serious. Just uncomfortable.

Quick, convenient and clean (Would stay again)

The staff was very friendly and helpful, especially Alex, who facilitated contact with the bus station when we lost a phone on the bus to Neuschwanstein. The bus was free with the coupon we received from the hotel, so that was a nice bonus.

Just be careful if you book the top floor "room with a view", as the celing (roofline) is low in parts of the room. I hit my head a couple times...
