A great hiking base for Fussen, Schwangau, and the King’s castle of Neuschwanstein

The Gastehaus is actually holiday let apartments rather than a B&B. The room we were in had a very good kitchenette, comfortable bed, small table for meals, very good shower room, and a balcony with a great Mountain View. It is well located about twenty minutes’ walk from the old city, and train station, with convenient supermarkets again about twenty minutes walk. For those coming by car there is ample parking. The local tax includes a Fussen card provided by the hosts that gives discounts on attractions and free local travel by bus and train.

There is nothing that we had issue with. We had a very enjoyable stay.

Very comfortable and well equipped room

Very pleased with our stay! The room was big and had everything you need for a few days stay - really comfortable, big beds, table and chairs, wardrobe, clean bathroom, small kitchen annex. Happily surprised with extra features - toster, hair dryer, thick curtains (important, if the morning sun wakes you up). What is also worth to mention, it was quiet all the time, outside and in the guesthouse. And the owner was really really nice. We arrived late, but they made sure we will have no problem getting our room key. The place is close to the lake and just a walk away from old town and train station.

Very comfortable.

Clean quiet, friendly staff. Nice they have recycle bins available. Strong internet. Easy to find and easy parking. Well equipped kitchenette. No concerns and I'd stay again. FYI item: About a 10-15 minute walk to restaurants or grocery which may be a consideration for anyone without an automobile.

Well equipped room in Füssen!

This was a clean, spacious room that was an easy walk from the town and train station. The kitchen area was fully equipped, and the heating worked well during the cold nights. We had to check in late, but the staff were so lovely and left the key for us with clear instructions on how to access the room. They also gave us great advice on where to do laundry, how to visit the tourist attractions (including the castles) and what to do in the town when the weather wasn't so great. We had a lovely few days there!

The WiFi wasn't always strong in the room, which was a bit of a problem for us since we both work online. We didn't mind not working as much during our short stay, but would have struggled if we were staying longer. Everything else was perfect :)

Good place for a get away

It was a little strange to not ever meet any staff, and I was not expecting this since I checked in at the normal time. They were fast to respond to me on booking.com. The heaters were all entirely turned off when I checked in and so the flat was freezing. I had huge issues heating the room for the first 2 nights, and I finally wrote them the last night just to tell them that there was maybe an issue with the heaters. I was not expecting them to come, but she did very quickly and we resolved the issue. The problem was the curtains cover the heaters so they were unable to sense the room temperature so they were not turning on. While it would be better to just have shorter curtains, you can lift the bottom onto the window seal and then the heaters can work properly. Anyways I was very impressed that she was willing to come over fast and fix any issues.

11am check out would be better. The curtain length inhibiting the heating of the room is an annoyance, and the back hot plate did not work so well (in general it took a lot of time to boil water on the front too). This place was about a 30min walk to the hauptbahnhof. None of these should stop you from staying here but just be aware.

Wonderful. We wish to stay there again!

The Guesthouse owners are very nice and positive. The atmosphere in the house and the picturesque view on the mountains are so romantic and breathtaking. The house is located in a very quiet place. This place is worth to be chosen to stay in!

Everything was wonderful except fire-alarm. We wanted to cook some meat and suddenly a fire-alarm worked off. It was a bit terrifying 😂

Lovely place with a view over Neuschwanstein (from some rooms)

Exactly how you would expect a place in Bayern to be, lovely location (easy to reach by car and all the locations in the vicinities). The apartment we got was clean and big, fully equipped and one room had a view over the castle. Amazing!

Eine tolle Unterkunft in einer traumhaften Region!

Es war absolut ruhig, obwohl Hafen und Innenstadt direkt um die Ecke waren.

Mit fehlte lediglich eine Ablage in der Dusche, ein kleinerer Topf und ein Abtropfgestell fürs Geschirr.

Etwas außerhalb des touristischen Trubels gelegenes Appartmenthaus. Mit Rädern alles gut erreichbar, es fehlten nur Fahrradabstellmöglichkeiten zum Anschließen.

Heerlijk en fijn verblijf.

De ligging was perfect voor een doorreis maar ook is de omgeving prachtig en makkelijk bereikbaar vanaf het verblijf. Het verblijf was zelf heel comfortabel en hygiënisch. De hosts waren makkelijk te bereiken en hebben duidelijke instructies meegegeven. Ook hadden ze veel boekjes en blaadjes in het appartement liggen waarin van alles stond rondom tips en info over füssen en omgeving.

We misten een afzuigkap voor tijdens het koken.

Stadje en omgeving was leuk, maar de accomodatie was slecht en rugpijn op de koop toe.

Het balkonnetje was prettig om op tezitten. Het stadje was leuk.

Het bed was erg slecht, we hebben er dagelijks rugpijn aan overgehouden! De kitchenette was niet bedoeld om te gebruiken, er was nauwelijks servies: 1 wijnglas bv voor 2 personen, bestek onvoldoende , etc Het lawaai van de andere gasten was erg vervelend, de slaapkamer boven de uitgang. En we hebben nooit iemand gesproken, behalve een keer telefonisch, van de beheerders.

Abbiamo trovato un bollitore ma nessuna bustina di thè/ tisane che di solito troviamo sempre in tutti i posti soggiornati, mancavano le tazze per il caffè, l’unica cosa che ci siamo preparati, durante il soggiorno ma con la nostra moka!

Wohnung 12 nicht zu empfehlen

Wohnung ist ordentlich renoviert (Nr. 12) und sauber + Bad ist klein, aber sehr gut renoviert + Es wurde bei kühlen Temperaturen geheizt.

Diese Bewertung betrifft nur die Wohnung 12. Vorab, andere Urlauber haben sicher andere Prioritäten. Für uns war wichtig: Eine Küche, in der man problemlos Frühstück und einfaches Abendbrot zusammenstellen und das Geschirr abwaschen kann. Das war aus Platzgründen sehr beschränkt. Es war keine Arbeitsfläche da. Es gab Elektrogeräte, aber kein Platz dafür. Ein Wasserkocher war auch da. Eine Wundertüte, man wusste nie wenn der Deckel aufgeht. Der Wohnraum sollte eine gewisse Gemütlichkeit ausstrahlen. Da waren wir ganz weit weg von! Ein Tisch (80x80) und 2 Stühle. Ein ganz einfaches unbequemes Polstermöbel und ein Beistelltisch.Das ist zu wenig. Und eine große freie weiße Wand? Es gab keinen Fleck zur Ablage der kleinen Dinge, so das wir immer am Suchen waren. Wir empfehlen den Vermieterinnen in dieser Wohnung mal 1Woche Probe zu wohnen.
