The place was falling apart. Pool was a mess. The room had stains everywhere. The couch bed was falling apart. There was stains all over the sheets and we had to ask for more. Horrible experience compared to other Hyatt Places.

It was connected to the convention center.

I didn't care for the fact that I was charged by Booking.com and by Hyatt Place. I asked the lady at the front desk about the charges. Of course, they knew nothing and I was given the General Manager's email. So, still trying to get the double charges reversed and will be contacting the attorney general's office. No one else should have to deal with this. It feels like a scam. A few hours after asking about the charges I went to checkout and another lady I hadn't had any dealings with was also up at the front desk. She snatched my key cards out of my hand and said I would be getting an email from booking.com. I did not. Obviously the two women spoke to each other. The one person was polite the other wasn't. Neither did anything with the charges.

The bed was great!

The pool is too small for the size of the hotel. No hot tub, I was very sad after a long trip. They didn’t prepare our room for use of the fold out bed, then they were out of blankets and pillows. When our room was serviced we didn’t t get coffee. A small thing, but it would have been nice to have first thing. All in all we enjoyed our stay!

No call when room was ready as promised. Room not ready on time. Eggs were horrible. Bar not open- desk person said he was the only one there so it would be late opening. Could hear our neighbors through the vent in the bathroom. Two nights in a row our neighbors were SO loud it woke us up. Sounded like a frat party going on with banging, yelling, cheering…

The way the elevators operate, the pool area didn’t have towels. There was balled up undies on the couch when we entered the room, our worn door was super loud when it shut and shut too quickly to be as heavy as it was.

Convenience to the convention center was nice as we were there for an event at the convention center.

The staff were short and rude to guests. Many of the other guests at the event with us reported the same thing. Breakfast was horrendous. I am easily pleased with nearly any continental breakfast but the food here was abysmal. The eggs were like rubber, basically inedible, and the other options were poor as well. Cold, dry waffles, and the bacon didn’t taste right. How do you mess up bacon? And finally, the hotel has an alarming issue with the ductwork and AC units. We had two separate rooms during this stay, the first room had an AC unit that leaked into the meeting room below and the maintenance staff had to come into our room to fix it. No big deal, they were quick and solved the leak. On our last night, we had a different room on the opposite side of the hotel. This room had damp floors from condensation and a very strong mildewy odor that made my throat hurt. This was reported from several families on that side of the hotel, during our convention event. There is a larger issue happening with leaks and faulty AC. Hyatt Place hotels need to do some serious maintenance on this hotel. I will not be returning here.

Our experience

The location was great, parking was easy.

We arrived at 2 p.m. to see if we could check in and the staff member asked for my phone number and said they would text me when my room was ready. We waited until 3:15 and still no text so we went into the hotel and they said our room still wasn't ready so we waited another 20 minutes for our room. Also we stayed the first night and called down to the front desk to book another night and the staff member said they were all booked up, so I got online and found a few rooms available and booked it online. Also we didn't like the clear bathroom doors, we like our privacy when in the bathroom.

We booked a double suite with 2 double beds and a sofa bed. When we arrived they said all they had available was a king suite with 1 bed and a sofa. Our one 17 year old had ti sleep on the floor. They said because we booked under a 3rd party our room type was not guaranteed. Very frustrating. $206.and someone had to sleep on the floor because we used booking.com. I think it was there mistake and they blamed it on booking.com. We stayed in 8 hotels on this trip and only had a issue at this one. We booked all 8 with booking.com.

There was a long line for checkin. And only one checkin person who was more concerned at the time with assisting a colleague behind the bar than checking me in promptly. Nightmare experience at Hyatt Place Cincinnati, Beware... they treat Booking.com clients like trash!

The location was great as it was attached to the Sharonville Convention Center, where an event was being held that we were attending. We chose to stay here because the proximity to the convention center was a great convenience.

Three male staff members abruptly entered our room WITHOUT KNOCKING where two young women in their early 20s were staying. The GM, Michael Leitz, told us to Pack up our belongings and leave (after 4 nights), even though we had reservations for 6 nights. He lied, and said our confirmation number from Booking.com was not in the system, and our name was not in the system. A staff member called the police on us to try and intimidate us into leaving, even though we called Hyatt Corporate, and they said our reservation was for 6 nights, and we weren't supposed to check out until Aug 4. Manager threw us out for more important, higher paying clients, even though we made the reservation back on Mar 21 and had confirmation numbers! After pleading and telling staff that we paid and had confirmation we were told “Either way we don’t have any room for tonight so we’re gonna need y’all to leave.” SO TRAUMATIZING!!!

Check in was at 3 , we got there at 5 pm and our room still wasn’t ready . Our room didn’t become available until 630 . We had a game to attend at 640 so it made us late for our prior arrangements . The supervisor didn’t want to give us any money back only gave us a complimentary card to use for free drink and meal . He said we could check out later as well but that wasn’t something we could do .

About as perfect as it could be

I booked this hotel for a convention held at the Sharonville Convention Center, and was pleasantly surprised. The room was fantastic and had comfortable beds, a spacious bathroom, plenty of towels, a variety of shapeable pillows, clean facilities, and curtains that did a great job in blocking out light. It had a surprisingly decent hot breakfast with eggs, bacon, sausage, and pancakes. Great dining area, too. The staff were friendly and helped me extend my stay when I realized I only booked two nights instead of three. The lobby was decent. The wifi was good enough, and I had no hassle in connecting to it. The price is reasonable.

I'm the kind of person who can always find something to nitpick. Honestly, I struggle to think of a single thing to complain about. The area around the hotel is a little rough, but I picked this hotel for the purpose of not having to leave the convention center. Even beside that, it's not a terrible location. There's plenty of restaurants just around the corner.
