Wow , what can I say . Not what we expected at all but we were absolutely delighted with our choice of cottage. This cottage is more like a town house on 3 floors but this added to the charm as the view from the master bedroom was perfect , being able to see Windermere and the Langdales from the window as amazing. The lounge was so cosy and inviting and snuggling up in front of the open fire on an evening was so romantic. Kitchen had everything we could have wanted and well presented. Loads of room and modern but tasteful . The quirky piano in the dining area gave us some laughs . Decoration throughout was in keeping with the area and gave the place charm . The bath is lovely and deep, perfect for a soak to ease the achy muscles after a long walk. Obviously it’s an old building and has some issues but we never noticed as we were too busy enjoying the location . Speaking of location , 5 minutes walk to the shops and 10 minutes to the waterfront., although it’s quite steep. Couldn’t have been more ideal . We didnt have any trouble getting about and we’re not that young. Parking is hit and miss but didn’t bother us . We met the cleaner on the day we left, Lisa,. She was so warm and friendly we really did not want to leave . We have already booked to come back to this homely cottage in September and are really looking forward to it.This couldn’t have been a more ideal spot for us , really felt like we had come home. Thank you Rachel for letting us stay in your wonderful cottage.. 5 stars from us x

The cottage has a warm, cosy feel. The sitting room has a fireplace and there is stylish modern well equipped kitchen and a new bathroom in keeping with the age of the property. The bedrooms on 2 floors are large and well furnished. On the middle floor the bed is softish memory foam. The top floor is a hard coil sprung bed which could do with a topper to make it a tad more comfortable. There is a choice of quality pillows. The location is great. Very quiet. A short stroll to the shops, restaurants and lake. There was no enclosed garden for the dogs and parking is limited though we didn't have a problem. Would definitely return.
