I wish I did not book haystacks
Location , nearness to Windermere jetty
The accommodation wasn’t ready , bed was not made , no linen , no bed spread ..nothing .. also poor cleanliness- the oven wasn’t cleaned , the dishwasher had fungus all over .. kitchen was not cleaned and basic things like tea bags weren’t provided

Very relaxing amid spectacular scenery. As we had sunshine every day all day that added to an excellent away from it all
it was clean & comfortable in a quiet close of similar houses. Sufficient equipment. useful brochures for planning trips around the area.
The shower over the bath was awkward for an elderly person with some mobility difficulties. A grab rail & nonslip bath mat would have been helpful. No black bin bags to put used bedding into as requested.

A good base for exploring Windermere and the surrounding area.
Plenty of space. Comfortable beds. Well equipped kitchen. Useful Lake District books and guides. Easy access from Bowness to Ambleside, Grasmere, Hawkshead, Coniston and Dungeon Ghyll using the frequent open top bus service.
More careful cleaning needed in the bathroom.
