Excellent location, could not fault it. Nice and warm.
There was a disparity in check in and out times on some communication. Some emails stated check in at 5pm and check out by 9am which does not seem to be the norm. However we arrived at 3pm and left at 10am which was stated on other communication with no issues.

Excellent location. You're extremely close to the lake and transport links.
Terrible host and poor communication from cottages.com. I requested a cot from them weeks in advance of the stay and had no reply. When I phoned a few days beforehand I was charged for renting one. The property's welcome pack said it was included for free. I have since pointed this out and am still waiting on a refund. Any follow up emails haven't been replied to. Because of this really substandard communication, I wouldn't rent a property from cottages.com again.

Location in Old Bowness was just right, we could walk to shops, lakeside, buses & fells.
Not much, even the sun shone for 2 weeks.

The location is in the heart of Bowness and ideal for exploring Windermere and the surrounding area. Very close to good pubs & restaurants and a Supermarket. The wiki connection was excellent. A real bonus was the dedicated parking space - rare for properties in such a central location.
The sink/toilet space was a little small, but this was compensated by a large walk-in shower. There's really not too much to fault given the central location, parking , good wifi and relatively low cost. The house is shaded and a little gloomy, but again, this is not a problem as it's not a location where you should be spending a lot of time indoors!

Self catering
Slight bigger sink area but understand the space available

For us a great location and the car parking was great as it came with the booking as parking is difficult in the area. Bathroom shower was great
Soft furnishings, curtains and lampshades need a bit of an updating and the mattresses are softer than we are used to. Air fresheners would be a good addition.

Great surrounding and location of the Cottage. The house was very comfortable and ideal for our stay. If it is available in the future for our next stay, we will surely try to book again! Amenities, internet, cleanliness and all instruction provided were perfect. Great stay!
Everything was great!

The location of the cottage was perfect, another brilliant thing is that it has its own parking, not all.of.the cottages nearby have the same.
The cottage itself was great, it had everything you needed in a self catering cottage and more, fridge, freezer, cleaning supplies, dishwasher, iron, washing machine etc.
The shower was excellent, and the place was pleasant, clean and comfortable. With plenty of storage for clothes etc.
The pillows on the bed were very soft and flat, some people may like that but that was a little uncomfortable. Otherwise everything else was fine!

What a perfect location for visiting Bowness and surrounding areas. The property was clean and very well equipped for a weekend away.
Mattress’s in twin room not comfy, main one has a dip in middle and one on top bunk is super hard but think that’s down to how the bed is built

Comfortable and cosy cottage with very well equipped kitchen. Fantastic location with walks direct from Bowness and only a few minutes walk to the centre with shops, pubs and cafes.
Nothing to dislike.

This is a great little cottage in a quiet location. It is very well equipped with the added bonus of off road parking. We were able to walk to the boat jetties and to all the bars, restaurants and shops. We would happily book again.
There was a bit of a damp problem in the lounge but it had been raining a lot!

Lovely cottage. This is our second visit
Work was being done on the property opposite and scaffolding was taking up half of an already narrow street. A van also blocked the exit from the street meaning we had to reverse the entire length of the street to exit.
Because of this we hardly used the car so we were unable to explore what the lake district has to offer and this really spoiled our holday

Fantastic location with a parking space, modern kitchen with all amenities, good WiFi, very clean and good shower and in the lounge a selection of games, dvds and books which was nice tho we didn't use them. Tv worked well with various free view channels to watch.
Heating was good and kept cottage warm when minus degrees outside but it did keep coming on at odd times like 3am when in bed which was strange rather than on a timer.
Stayed in a few places in the UK now and always been left a little pack of milk, tea, coffee, fruit etc or a bottle of wine, crisps, nuts which always was appreciated and a nice touch from the owners. Nothing here but that didn't detract from our stay and I would definitely also stay here again.
Final point, everywhere I have stayed previously I have received an email the morning of arrival giving instruction on where to locate the keybox and what the code is to access the keys for the property just to put your mind at rest. Nothing received this time and I had to phone up and speak to an automated option before I was connected to a human who once was happy I was who I said I was did then provide me with the code for the keybox. Can't help feeling an email an hour or 2 before arrival is a much better alternative.

The cottage was lovely and warm when we arrived. It was clean and contained all the things you could need. I like the fact there was enough toilet paper, tea towels, fairy liquid etc so we didn’t have to go out shopping.
A simple guide how to use the DVD player and Now TV.
