Activities in the area include water sports, climbing, fell walking and cycling. Historic houses and gardens, museums and other cultural centres are within a short drive, whilst the beaches of the western lakes can be reached within an hour. There is a launderette 1/2 mile away. Shop and pub 10 yards.
