A little gem in Bowness!

Lovely cosy cottage in a great location, we had a lovely pre Christmas break!

The downside was being unable to access the cottage till 5pm, also having to vacate by 9am, think 3pm on the day of arrival and 10am on vacating the property, just our opinions really

Some things need to be addressed for the cost of the stay

The cottage is in a perfect location and had lots of amenities

The sofas have to be replaced there completely collapsed. You had to sit on cushions . For the cost of the cottage per night you would expect furniture you can sit on. Especially when many others have complained about the same thing. Also the tvs should be upgraded to smart tvs

Great for 2 couples

Two great bedrooms, well equipped kitchen and a comfortable lounge. All clean and well presented

Parking in the street was not possible for some of our stay but we did get a space in the next street, a minor issue

Great cottage in a great location

This was our first visit to the Lake District with our 2 children (7 & 5). We used Duckling Cottage as a base to explore the Lakes and it didn’t disappoint. The cottage has everything you need (bedding towels, WiFi, dishwasher, washing machine etc) and comes with 2 en-suite bedrooms. It’s located just off the High Street in Bowness-on-Windermere and a short walk down the hill to Lake Windermere. If the price is right we’ll definitely be back next year.

Parking on the street is pot luck but you have to appreciate you’re in the Lake District. The property does come with a residential parking permit for the street and 2 streets nearby, however the streets become very busy and i ended up parking a few streets away which wasn’t a problem for us. Just be prepared for this.

location is great . there is everything you need in the cottage . board games for the kids dvds books . the kitchen has all the equipment to make a meal . parking permit comes with the property.

Very Comfortable Cottage in Fab Location

The location is fabulous and so close to shops, bars, restaurants and the lake. Also close to the bus stop. The kitchen has everything you'd ever need to cook a full banquet!

The cottage was welcoming, spacious and beautifully furnished. In an ideal location for accessing all local amenities. Would love to return.

Nothing major, just would like initial access to be via the front entrance and not the back. This was due to rubbish strewn about the back entrance.
