Great location, easy to get into the city by bus or Uber, the area felt very safe. The property has a lot of character and you can tell it has been restored with care.
Unfortunately there could have been greater attention to detail of cleaning between people staying, as we found used blue kitchen roll and a chocolate bar wrapper behind the sofa as we turned on the lamp. However the beds and other spaces were clean. The property was very hot with the heat control seeming not to work correctly so we had to have the windows open most of the time, I could imagine it would be quite unbearable in winter.

Beautifully presented, clean, comfortable with all conveniences for a home from home stay. Location is absolutely perfect - quiet and surrounded by lovely countryside, yet close enough for a drive/bus into York, or a walk into town about 45 mins.
Nothing to say here. It was perfect.

The decor was good and tidy.
The front lobby key lock was not working very well and neither was the key pad.
Constant traffic noise when outside.
Surfaces and floors felt dusty/gritty.
