An amazing flat in the heart of Kirkwall, brilliant stay!

The flat was perfect - great location right in the centre and easy access to local places of interest by car or public transport. The flat itself was spotlessly clean throughout, very spacious and comfortable and a remarkably well stocked kitchen. A lovely living room to relax in, the beds were very comfortable and really appreciated the nice touches with Christmas decorations throughout. It felt like a home from home. Can't fault it in anyway, we would love to return, thanks Abbey!

Great location in Kirkwall, very spacious

This was a great location just off the harbor, super convenient for shopping and several of the in-town sights like the cathedral and museum. Plenty of space, nice kitchen, very clean. Even though we were above the chip shop, there was no unpleasant smells. WiFi was adequate for working and streaming TV.

It was sometimes hard to find nearby parking, even in the off-season. It is up a flight of metal stairs, so you need to be able to carry your bags up a flight.

Outstanding

This was a self-cater and spacious with two rooms. We stayed there for 3 weeks so it was nice to do laundry and eat two meals per day at home. We have been to Orkney 4 times before and this was the nicest place we stayed. The owner was very responsive to requests. For example, we had a light out when we arrived and she quickly got us a replacement. The apartment was well-stocked with cooking utensils, dishes, and linens. Previous renters have left a good supply of food if one needed dry goods, spices, etc.

We think the drains in the bathroom might need flushing through - quite an unpleasant smell, despite us using bleach. The apartment was central, but unfortunately we had three nights of loud noise and music until the early hours - Rugby Sevens weekend, plus Bank Holiday, apparently!

Convenient located, newly furnished flat.

On the Main Street to shops and cafes. The flat has been refurbished throughout and had everything you need. It was clean and comfortable.

Internet connectivity could be better, wi/fi dropped out constantly. At the weekend the only nightclub is next to property, so be prepared for drunken shouting and loud music 9-1am

Fabulous location in walking distance to many of the local sights in the town. Very comfortable beds. Clean and cosy apartment. Quick communication with the host. Free parking very close by. Well appointed kitchen and bathroom. Overall an extremely comfortable stay.

Not an issue for us but it is worth noting that there is a pub next door so it can get bit noisy outside at night.

Fabulous apartment

This spacious, modern, nicely decorated apartment in the heart of Kirkwall has all the comforts of home. It was nice having the kitchen to cook simple meals and the washing machine was most appreciated. Close to everything, it made a nice home base to explore Orkney’s mainland. Hosts Abbey and Evan were most helpful.

Definitely party noise from the pubs late into the night. Bring your ear plugs😀

Didn’t mention it was above a chip shop right next to a night club and sports bar. Very noisy at weekends especially. Perhaps future tenants should have the right to know this. As if you are looking for a nice quiet holiday this is deffo not the place to be staying

We loved exploring the island and had a good stay at the apartment.

Clean, centrally located, Abbey was very helpful, as were parking info. It gave us a good base from which to explore the island.

Very noisy with the two bars below and people making tons of noise from 10pm to 1 am. Much of the racket can be reduced by closing outer and inner windows, but then apartment got very warm. Food froze in the frig even though it was set to min.

A lovely apartment ideally situated in the heart of Kirkwall.

The apartment was spacious, clean and ideally located for exploring Kirkwall and the rest of Orkney. The layout and character of the apartment was great, the decoration was simple and tasteful and the equipment in the kitchen was good.

It was a little noisy outside from the bars outside on some evenings. I couldn’t get terrestrial TV to work, sometimes the internet connection wasn’t good enough for Iplayer.

Location was great, really easy access to the rest of Kirkwall and super easy to find. The property was modern, clean and had everything I needed. A wonderful little place to stay in the heart of Kirkwall.

A pleasant place close to harbour and shops.

Did no stay for breakfast due to having a very early ferry to catch. The hostess was very kind and helpful even offering to carry my luggage for me.

Nothing needed changing, and there was every thing ready for a start of visit.
