Welcoming hosts and a beautiful rural setting.

The views were lovely over to the bay and we enjoyed seeing so many different birds in the fields around.

Sharon is an excellent host who has thought of everything , her place is a find, highly recommended

The location was midway between Stromness and Kirkwall and Scarpa Bay was 5 minutes away in the car where there were beautiful morning walks . There was a warm welcome with cake , eggs and nibbles. We were made feel very comfortable and would recommend it to anyone.

Excellent host, cottage and location.

Friendly and welcoming host on this cottage attached to the farm. Quiet area overlooking the loch, but only 12 minutes into the main town. The cottage was exceptional; with regard to the facilities on offer and the room available. We had everything we needed in the cottage as well as the space to cionently store our clothes and gear. We loved staying there and we loved coming back to our temporary home at the end of a busy day exploring the island. Thank you for helping to make our holiday so enjoyable. I even asked the host to supply us with a week of sunshine, which she did!

A perfect holiday with weather ,attractions and most important of all a great host to look after us.

The whole ambiance of the cottage and adjoining farm made for a perfect holiday experience. Shona was helpfull and provided a lovely welcome pack. The position of the cottage could not be bettered for access to the island. We are aready talking to friends and family about them visiting Orkney and staying at the cottage.

Great location, great hosts, great value for money

Shona and Billy were so friendly and helpful. The cottage is very comfortable and was toasty warm on arrival. Shona provided a lovely welcome pack including eggs, a home baked cake and various Orkney treats. It is located about halfway between Kirkwall and Stromness so is really handy for all the sites in the western mainland.

perfect location overlooking loch of Kirbister…watching a pair of curlews feeding in the field just below the house was amazing and even the swallows buzzing around were friendly … bed was very comfortable… as were the sofa’s… perfectly equipped with everything I needed …. immediately felt at home

Shona met us at midnight (after getting off the ferry) and she showed us around thoroughly despite the time. Great service, and a gift of lovely eggs too.

The location was great. The layout of the cottage was an excellent design. Sufficient utensils and crockery. There is little more to say other than we would certainly use the property again............

Self catering house in beautiful, quiet and peaceful location with lovely views of the sea. Nice garden to sit in. House itself very comfortable and nicely decorated. Very clean.

This property is very comfortable and well equipped. Peaceful, with beautiful views over Kirbister Loch and Scapa Flow. Very central to travel anywhere on the mainland and for all ferries. We would highly recommend it and would stay there again on future visits to Orkney.
