A great one-night stay in a nice hotel, directly over the road to the train station and a 10minute walk into the lovely city centre. We received a warm welcome on arrival and a cheery check-out . the hotel is in good condition with a great little drinking garden. well impressed with both the hotel and city and will return again for a break when it becomes warmer.

We got a free upgrade to the Kings side of the hotel which was lovely. Lovely bathroom with a bath and a shower. Nice fluffy towels. Evening meal at our function was lovely and the staff were really helpful and cheerful

We had another wonderful stay for a birthday trip. Room was clean and spacious, and the bed was so comfortable! (superior room). Had a nice drink in the bar last night too. They kindly stored our bags for us for a few hours after we checked out, as we wanted to go back into the city before our train home. We will definitely be back!

The hotel was old but decorated and finished to a great extent,rooms were clean and warm on a cold night and food and hotel staff were very good. Definitely will recommend this hotel to friends and family .

Room was great hotel was clean staff were ok only problem we had is at 7.15pm last night we could not get an evening meal in the restaurant as it was full which is fair enough how ever we could not get room service or any bar food as because of them being full in the restaurant they closed all other food orders at 7.15 pm, which meant we had to walk miles and eat out costing £88.00 where we could have spent that money in the hotel, it was such a shame as this is a really nice hotel we will not be staying again because of the food problems.

What an amazing and very spotless hotel wonderful decor from entrance to getting to our amazing room which was huge spotless and outstanding furniture even had proper potraits on walls four poster bed and tv in bathroom. Staff are amazing very helpfull and welcoming mattew at the bar was brilliant and reception team were amazing all in there uniforms

Stayed on the way to get the ferry from Holyhead. Really nice hotel, helpful staff and nice bar area. I did not have any food but the room was big enough and comfy bed.

Stayed overnight. Messaged beforehand about early check-in, was told multiple times that I would receive a response but never did. Was repeatedly bombarded with upgrade offers. When I checked in, my toilet had feces all over the outside of the bowl. I complained, was told someone would be sent immediately. I said that I was in a rush, and asked how long it would be. They did not come. I asked for a new room. Noone contacted me, so I went to reception and had to demand one. Huge waste of time. Musty rooms. Stay at the Moxy instead.

The room was spacious and clean. The bed was comfortable. The Carpark was awkward and overcrowded and overcharged us. The hotel could not rectify this. The room had nowhere to hang dresses. The coat hooks behind the door had been taken down leaving holes in the wall.

We were not in the hotel long but our room was lovely and clean nice view over city too. Temperature in room was perfect. Staff were great, very helpful. Breakfast was ok, nice to have a veggie sausage all ready and available. The couple we came with had an issue with thrir room(some irritating noise), and could not move due to capacity. They got little sleep, which was a shame - compensated by 20% money back. If i need to be picky, some of the communal areas were a little grubby, missing some attention to detail. Eg, threadbare carpet on the stairs in the additional building, and there is a beautiful lantern in the stairwell outside the lifts, which could look so much better if it had a clean inside dust and dead flies - they my only gripes. Good price for what it was tbf. Enjoyed our weekend and great proximity to station. Ventured to Liverpool for a day, trains every 15 mins. Had a fab time overall.

Fabulous hotel, just located opposite the train station. We stayed for two nights 2 adults and four children. We visited the zoo and the bus stop is just over the road from the hotel which is convenient with four children. Catered well for our 11 year-old coeliac grandson. Staff really friendly and rooms lovely and comfortable. Had a great stay and wouldn’t hesitate to stay again if visiting Chester.

Terrible service from start to finish. On arrival there was a queue going out the door for people to check in, with only one member of staff serving people whilst others were talking amongst themselves. Room was incredibly loud and you good here everything outside, which is less than ideal opposite a train station when you had people coming and going at all hours. Shower also look like it had mould in it. Issues with parking as well as we were told to park outside the hotel by reception staff and pay for parking. Just to find out we were misinformed and received a parking ticket. Informed the deputy manager of these issues above and he apologised and asked me to call them back to resolve if the council would not waive fine. Called back a few days later and was told they would not help as there was no record from their deputy manager on file about our conversation. I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt but when the members of staff became rude on the phone that was the last straw. Terrible service, loud and dirty rooms, avoid at all costs!
