The bedroom was clean, good shower, comfortable bed but the room was drafty and the noise from the cellar/ kitchens woke us up early

The Pied Bull couldnt be faulted if anything was wrong we never noticed. Quite area but still close to everything. Room service second to non and warm and cosy. From arrival to departure on our 4 days just perfect.we sure to return to the Pied again and tell our friends and relatives this is perfect.

We stayed here as we were going to a concert at the cathedral with my elderly parents and it is only max 5 minute walk, we arrived at around 10 past 3 to a very stern welcome. However we found our room and put our bags in and went back down to the bar to eat, first mistake! We had gammon which served with chips peas and mushrooms, it was horrible my partner nearly threw up, and I left mine, the gentle waiting on us was unfriendly and very abrupt so we didn't complain. When we returned to our room to quickly change my partner jumped into what looked like a lovely shower to find it was luke warm, no biggy I guess, so we changed and left for the concert. When we returned we had a couple of drinks in the bar with the same guy as before and was made to feel uncomfortable by his demeanour, so we went to bed, another quick Luke warm shower to climb into bed with dirty sheets, by this time it was midnight and we were tired so went with it. The following morning two very average full English cost us just short of £34 and a half hour wait with grumpy staff. Do not recommend and we won't be back.

Lovely bar area.... our room was on ground floor. It was small but adequate as only sleeping there. Lovely bathroom, shower was huge. Id stay there again!

Order breakfast from a menu, juice and cereal at the bar. The staff we interacted with were always polite. The beds were uncomfortable and walls are thin. Glass collection really early on the morning right under the window which didn't help with the lack of sleep

Lovely attic room but you could hear next door being sick in the night /snoring/coughing . Sadly bed wasn’t comfortable instead of slats you were sleeping on hardboard . Great pub downstairs

Room was beautiful and spotless(room 3 four poster suite). Staff were superb, the pub is so cozy and welcoming! We will definitely be returning next time we visit Chester. We normally stay at the Grosvenor and I can honestly say that the Pied Bull is 10 times better. Loved it! Thanks

We paid extra for a 4 poster room & were given a Brewers cottage room. The bed was uncomfortable & the room was really hot. The staff did not care when approached about our room being downgraded.

Room was fine, but uncomfortable bed required a new mattress and extra pillows could have been made available. Whoever was emptying glass bins late at night and then early morning bin collections could be more considerate, 6am a bit early for a wake up call. Don’t expect a good night sleep. Staff at bar, lounge were pleasant.

We absolutely loved our stay at the Pied Bull. Staff were lovely and always around to help with anything. Room was fantastic spotless and very cozy, comfortable bed. Breakfast was lovely, there was a menu and a choice of Full English Breakfast, Full Vegan Breakfast and Breakfast Sandwiches, we had the Full English and really enjoyed it. We would definitely recommend the Pied Bull we loved it here!

The room was really lovely, warm and felt really homely. It was clean, had what we needed, although in the centre of town, it wasn’t noisy overnight. The staff were really helpful, breakfast was lovely too. Location is brilliant, step outside and you are in the thick of it. Would definitely stay again.

Very noisy, walls are extremely thin. Bed was incredibly creaky, was difficult to get a good night's sleep. Room was clean, staff were very friendly and helpful.

Really enjoyed the ambience at the Pied Bull and the staff were all welcoming, helpful & friendly. Our room was comfortable though the bed was a bit creaky. That said I slept well in it! The hotel was quiet & comfortable with a great selection of drinks at the bar and the breakfast was plentiful and tasty. We enjoyed it so much we’re returning in December. Thank you to the staff & hotel for being the perfect hosts for the visit to a wonderful city.

The room was pleasant but had a foisty smell to it. Lots of noise from outside but expected in a town centre. Free bottle of wine easily obtained from the bar. Breakfast was nice but expensive.

We stayed over at The Pied Bull and absolutely loved it. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was welcoming and full of character – you can really feel the history of the place, but it’s cosy and relaxed at the same time. The staff were friendly, attentive and clearly take pride in what they do. The food was excellent – hearty, well-cooked and full of flavour. Everything came out hot and beautifully presented.

Lovely place to stay, central to everything, staff were lovely. Bit noisy outside until early hours due to students partying but that's because of it be so central. We still managed to sleep. Only down side we didn't get our VIP perk of a bottle of wine 😂
