Adequate but won’t be staying again

Great beds, good location

Outdated room, window didn’t open, breakfast poor with overcooked scrambled egg. Pool packed and showers dirty.

The instructions on how to lock the lockers in the leisure area were confusing so couldn't lock them properly but facilities otherwise were great.

Great in most aspects

Clean comfortable spacious room, great TV, and great shower and bath. Fantastic breakfast, really attentive staff and perfect location. Everything needed for a great stay in a beautiful city.

Long queues to check in and room not ready on our arrival 1 hour after the posted arrival time. Car park expensive.

The only thing I wasn’t to comfortable with, was the fact there’s a big window next to the pool so anyone in the walk in/ reception area can see into the main pool area which didn’t give you a lot of privacy. The car parking was very expensive considering it was on site

Central location

Lack of park hotel parking, there was a large area under the hotel that could have been utilised. What there was, was more expensive than the normal city parking. The check in process was very slow and one of the two rooms was still not ready over an hour after check in started

Very comfortable night thank you.

We were upgraded from Standard to Premium at no additional cost. The room was spacious and we liked the hot bath. Very good breakfast including gluten free muesli option and cooked items were piping hot.

Difficult to find the entrance on foot, and it involved dark alleyways that we at first didn't believe could be right. Pillows not up to the room standard. Sound proofing between rooms not ideal.

Fabulous locaction for city centre break

Excellent service in the restaurant. A clear system for looking after guests with dietary needs. Comfy bed.

Not enough Reception staff on at key times of day. No towels available for swimming on 2nd day and poor system in place to manage numbers of swimmers. Extension leads in bedroom as very limited plug sockets. The one affixed to the bedside table had a bright white light which shone in my face all night! Poor lighting in room for drying hair, getting dressed. All lighting was wall lights or table lamp.

Very nice hotel, lovely staff especially the cleaners and laundry staff they were great.

Staff were friendly, room was clean and comfortable, good location.

We have a 4 year old boy who was very excited about swimming each morning, the pool was only open to adults until 9am. Anyone with young kids will appreciate that's quite late as we were ready to swim after 8 am. We saw only 3 adults swimming at up to 9am. Then, when it was our turn, families where queuing to get in the pool. The pool had a 16 people in the pool only policy, as all families had to wait until 9am it caused further delays on getting a swim. Our experience would have been much better without this issue on who can swim when.

Queue for check in was shocking we waited an hour to get checked in. The heating wasn’t working in the room so had to have a heater brought in.

Cold rooms, no room allocation as promised. Bad service

We asked for rooms next to eachother and this hadn’t been arranged. We arrived at 2pm and were told the would allocate two rooms next to eachother at 3pm when check in opens and we could go into the centre and when we got back and checked in it would be sorted. It wasn’t. We had to accept a downgraded room in order to be next to eachother. We asked for a cot and that also had to be arranged again. The rooms were so cold. We rang reception twice but no answer so had to go down to speak to them. They brought up a heater for one of the rooms but not the other. I struggled to sleep because it was so cold as did my toddler. We also had picked the hotel especially for the pool which we found out was closed for three days. We had not had any prior notification. And the receptionist simply said ‘oh what a shame’. We won’t be staying there again.

In an assisted room the minimal electric sockets were at skirting board level under a desktop. How are wheelchair users supposed to get on the floor to plug in anything?

I had previously booked disabled parking which the hotel reserved for me with a named sign in the space. Unfortunately some idiot without a disability permit annoyingly parked in my space. Meg in reception handled the situation very professionally.
