Enjoyable and easy walking distance to Chester centre.

Very clean, comfortable beds, allocated free parking and in close vicinity to Chester centre

Only 1 two seater settee and 1 armchair in lounge. We were 4 adults so one of us had to sit in an upright chair to relax. There was room for another armchair, so I think it needs to be added. There was a busy road outside property, so road noise disturbed us from about 6am

Living room seating wasn’t really enough for 4 adults to relax comfortably. More hand towels would have been good. No hand wash in downstairs bathroom

Perfect.

The property was immaculately clean and well presented with private parking. The location could not have been any better to explore the beautiful historic city of Chester only minutes away.

This is not a complaint just a constructive observation. The top floor ensuite could do with frosted glass rather than the roller blind which we had down throughout our stay. This did not affect our stay in any way and we would definitely come back.

23 Blackfriars house

Excellent accommodation opposite Chester races. A few minutes walk to the centre of Chester. Everything is walkable from this location. Secure parking is bonus.

Beds were too soft for my liking. Accommodation although excellent is on three floors.

The perfect comfortable apartment for a stay in Chester

The location is excellent, parking secure and apartment is very comfortable. It was ideal for 2 couples - a nice lounge to meet in and yet separate bedrooms and bathrooms. Good view over the racecourse - so nice to find a bottle of prosecco and chocolates waiting for us. Very clean and tidy when we arrived - good quality toiletries. Check in was easy with clear instructions. Easy to walk into all the sites and restaurants. Several little cafes 5/10 mins away if you want to eat out for breakfast. All handled very profesionally.

Racecourse view

The apartment was nice, the beds comfortable and it is convenient for Chester. Close to an excellent pub. Though it is quite a strange layout inside and not having enough comfortable seating for 4 people was odd for somewhere with 2 double rooms? It was clean though the downstairs bathroom smells damp.

We were constantly messaged and called from the property management team, asking us if we were okay? ( which is nice once, but not repeatedly) also to put the bins out? It was a bit too much. Upstairs bathroom door wouldn't shut properly, shower was weak. Downstairs smelled damp, shower didn't drain properly.Also not enough seating for us all to comfortably watch tv, hardly any loo roll? On arrival our front door was wide open and the keybox open as workmen were inside fixing a leak in the downstairs bathroom, which was a bit confusing and not expected.

Perfect property, perfect location

Location was perfect. Quiet and overlooking Chester racecourse yet less than a five minute walk from the centre of Chester. 1 minute walk to “The Architect” bar and restaurant which was absolutely beautiful. Secure car parking on site.

Perfect location

Only got instructions for gate cod and key code 20 minutes after the agreed time. Found it difficult to lock the key box when leaving. £203 deposit for damage was excessive and still not returned to account one week after leaving.

Lots of culture to explore

Location Excellent being inside the city walls. Cafes and shops interesting. We walked the walls, visited the museum and the castle. We drove an hour to Salford for the Imperial War Museum and Lowry Gallery, half hour to Lady Lever Gallery and Port Sunlight and quarter hour to Waterways Museum.

Getting the key codes was not easy. They are not released till 15.00 hrs, check in time. They are sent on the internet. As there is no connection in the street outside unless you arrange to have them before you will be stuck. I rang the agent before I left the last place on my journey where I could connect and after explaining the situation was given the codes

Stay - excellent. Communication awful - too many messages and associated links-don't use voicemail.

The parking area was badly littered. it was easy to recover the keys from the lock box but very difficult to operate any of the locks; they worked well after I greased them. The gutters have plenty of grass growing in them.

Great location for both the races & Chester city centre.

Great location. Comfortable , nicely decorated , secure and cosy. Host was accommodating and it was a nice touch leaving chocolates & prosecco.

Bed wasn't very comfortable (extremely bouncy!)- the lower ground king bed felt more like a double & seemed to be either 2 narrow single beds or a zip link bed . The rooms were however very tastefully decorated .

Comfortable stay

I liked the location - perfect for a weekend in Chester! Walking distance to everything and overlooking the race course. It was super comfortable living space, generally all done very well. Beds comfy.

The deposit situation is not good. There is no warning about this until a week before, where they message you asking for a £250 deposit to their bank account (no credit card) outside of booking.com. I was then chased for this until I paid it, and it wasn’t transferred back for 5 days after the stay. It was all fine and legit- but it just feels uncomfortable transferring money to a random bank account outside of booking.com. Some people may not have that extra £250 in cash to lose for over a week either. The stay was good - but this situation is not ideal at all, particularly with no warning when you book.

The property was fantastic, had everything that you needed and more. The little touches of Prosecco, water and chocolates were amazing. The location couldn’t of been better. The house was so clean and the beds were really comfy. The owners were quick to respond via whats app once i'd informed them my booking.com wasnt receiveing messages.

Theres nothing we didnt like about the house. The only downside is I get taking a deposit especially with how beautiful the house is but then taking longer than 7 days to give it back when its bank transfer.
