Room was fine, but uncomfortable bed required a new mattress and extra pillows could have been made available. Whoever was emptying glass bins late at night and then early morning bin collections could be more considerate, 6am a bit early for a wake up call. Don’t expect a good night sleep. Staff at bar, lounge were pleasant.

We absolutely loved our stay at the Pied Bull. Staff were lovely and always around to help with anything. Room was fantastic spotless and very cozy, comfortable bed. Breakfast was lovely, there was a menu and a choice of Full English Breakfast, Full Vegan Breakfast and Breakfast Sandwiches, we had the Full English and really enjoyed it. We would definitely recommend the Pied Bull we loved it here!

The room was really lovely, warm and felt really homely. It was clean, had what we needed, although in the centre of town, it wasn’t noisy overnight. The staff were really helpful, breakfast was lovely too. Location is brilliant, step outside and you are in the thick of it. Would definitely stay again.

The room was pleasant but had a foisty smell to it. Lots of noise from outside but expected in a town centre. Free bottle of wine easily obtained from the bar. Breakfast was nice but expensive.

We stayed over at The Pied Bull and absolutely loved it. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was welcoming and full of character – you can really feel the history of the place, but it’s cosy and relaxed at the same time. The staff were friendly, attentive and clearly take pride in what they do. The food was excellent – hearty, well-cooked and full of flavour. Everything came out hot and beautifully presented.

Lovely place to stay, central to everything, staff were lovely. Bit noisy outside until early hours due to students partying but that's because of it be so central. We still managed to sleep. Only down side we didn't get our VIP perk of a bottle of wine 😂

Building is beautiful, with lots of charm. There is a bar underneath that is fantastic. The location is central with everything on your doorstep. The room was a lovely room on the top floor, incredibly clean, however the walls in the room were paper thin, I could hear the person next to me talking all night. I get that it’s an old building, but there needs to be soundproofing in the rooms before I could justify staying again. I’m sure my neighbour could hear me just existing in the room next to him, so I don’t blame the other guest. Can’t comment on the breakfast as I didn’t get it, but from what I saw it looked nice.

A fabulous place to stay in Chester. The staff were very friendly, the location was perfect and easy to walk around from. The pub itself is great, and the Steak & Ale pie is delicious!! I highly recommend staying here and would stay here again.

Clean rooms. Sadly 38 steps on the stairs to my room which was near the top of the hotel and no lift! Situated central to Chester which I found convenient but some might find the night time noise a nuisance. No parking on site which again might prove difficult for anyone with mobility issues. Pleasant stay but if I stayed again I’d make sure if a ground floor room.

We booked the pied bull for our wedding anniversary. Clearly noted on the booking,their website shows amazing rooms with claw foot baths and exquisite food. We arrived nothing even mentioned more interested in making sure they had the debit payment and waiver about wonky steps covered. I understand they might not be interested in iur specual occasion but it was important enough to us to note it on our booking messages. Room was mediocre at best ( for a superior double we expected more) no bath ( apparently these were different rooms) it smelt of damp but we put this down to the age of the property. However the noise from the street was horrendous for our room,whenever they emptied bottle's or got barrel deliveries it was like it was right by our window and everyone walking past at all hours of the night could be heard as if they were in the room. The menu we looked at online was not what we were given and so the meals we thought we would choose weren't available. If you have mobility issues be aware there are steps to all rooms and some up 3-4 flights if stairs. Only saving grace were the bar and serving staff who were lovely but when trying to engage about the history of the place and other old buildings nearby they didn't seem interested and seemed to zone out and not engage in the enthusiasm at all.

This was a perfectly fine hotel. Had a room that was outside access down the side road. Lots of road noise from bin men starting around 3 am, and drunks prior to that. All survivable and in the city. The room was fine - a bit worn, and the bed was a bit old feeling, but fine. Restaurant was good - I didn’t eat - but I had a drink and it was nice.
