Good value for money for a Saturday stay, couldn't ask for a better location as a Chester visitor.

Fantastic location. Spacious and clean room, bathroom a great size and clean too. Fridge, kettle, iron, all the things you'd hope for and a bit more. Done the job for perfectly as visitors to the cathedral, which was about 90 seconds away.

It's noisy, as there is a lot of action downstairs and in the streets around the property. But we were OK with this and not back until late and drunk ourselves. Also found the entrance a little tricky to find - had to press the ring Doorbell, wasn't completely obvious at first. But no problem once we knew.

Great location but super noisy

The location is great for access to Chester. The bedroom was clean and the bed was comfortable but the room was tired, broken blinds, loose taps and the shower door didn't close properly. Its definitely a pub first... hotel second

Our welcome was poor... we couldn't check in and luckily there was a nice lady in the yard who new who to phone otherwise we wouldn't have been able to get in. When we eventually got in the guy was apologetic and was welcoming and gave us all the info we needed. The hotel is super noisy which was mentioned in the write up but it was mad loud.

Location was ideal for visiting Chester, although parking was away from the property it was 5 minute walk & secure for the extra fee

NOISE!! We arrived at 4pm, the building was locked up, no answer to the ring doorbell & ringing the contact number given. Door was answered eventually by a staff member who had no idea we were due to arrive. Showed us to a room which was adequate. We went out for drinks & a meal & on returning the music could be heard streets away. It was a wet February night, only 2-3 people in the courtyard but the disco was blaring until 2am. It then turned down the volume slightly until 4am. We managed 2 hours sleep then packed our bags and left. No staff on site to explain our departure even though we had booked & paid for 2 nights for a valentine weekend.

Great location, room was clean & tidy, I liked the shower with the side jets, fridge in the room.

Fantastic hotel with brilliant staff and atmosphere!

The staff were very welcoming, friendly and accommodating. I would 100% recommend staying here as this is the second year on bounce my partner and I have stayed here and we will be looking to book again.

Noise so bad I had to leave

The location was excellent

When I checked in all seemed good, but at 8 pm when I went back to my room, I found it was over the karaoke bar - the floor and bed were vibrating as the music was so loud. I had read about noise over the weekends but this was a Thursday night - I asked how long the music would go on for and I was told at least midnight - at this point I decided I could not stay and left

Advertising breakfast but didn’t do them and we were charged for it deafening music till 3am impossible to sleep no heating in room except tiny electric radiator which hardly made difference really cold in room shower had mould taps on sinks loose one set didn’t work at all place looked shabby in general

The location is fantastic but the music is very loud until 2am. We were aware of this on booking and again when we checked in. It really wasn’t a problem for us as we were out in Chester till late and we love music but could be a problem for some people.

Room was pleasent. A bit lived in but better than I expected. Based on the location I was expecting a very late night, but turned out OK. This was a wednesday night though.

Black mould between tiles. But generally for what I paid for this was the only thing that I didnt like. But Mattress was a little soft for my liking. And also, though i wasn't kept up by bars... the 6am key delivery did wake me up. But its not that bad really.

Old, reasonably well-maintained pub-stay, with great staff but difficult to get to.

In one sense, the location is great in that it is in the heart of the city and walking distance to a lot of cafes, pubs and clubs. The staff were super-helpful and made us feel very welcome.

On the other hand, the location makes the hotel very difficult to get to (especially with suitcases and bags), as it is completely surrounded by other properties. Long and winding staircases need to be navigated to get the the upstairs rooms. The hot water was not working during our stay, and the weekend DJ music is very noticeable in the room (up to 2am!)

Misleading and disappointing.

The location was central as described. Spacious room with coffee and tea-making facilities. Clean.

The bar was playing music at such a loud volume that the floor and all the furniture in our room was vibrating with the bass until the early hours of the morning. We couldn’t get to sleep until it stopped after 2am. Half of the lights in the bathroom didn’t work, I didn’t shower as I didn’t want to do in the dark. We wanted to confirm the parking recommendations detailed at the time of booking but the member of staff we asked just shrugged his shoulders at us. The initial booking also stated breakfast would be available that we could book at check-in but we were informed on arrival that this was not available. This was a tremendously disappointing stay.

When looking for a booking there is no mention of the noise from the venues events. Only once I had booked the room, did the notice pop up on the screen that there will be noise from the courtyard until 11pm and a final shut down at 2am. Unfortunately, we found the case to be that there was loud noise, coming from inside and outside the building until 2am. I can appreciate that the hotel is a night time venue, but then my advice would be to NOT host guests over the weekends.
