Nice location really noisy and basic

Advertising breakfast but didn’t do them and we were charged for it deafening music till 3am impossible to sleep no heating in room except tiny electric radiator which hardly made difference really cold in room shower had mould taps on sinks loose one set didn’t work at all place looked shabby in general

The location is fantastic but the music is very loud until 2am. We were aware of this on booking and again when we checked in. It really wasn’t a problem for us as we were out in Chester till late and we love music but could be a problem for some people.

For the price it was as expected. Can't really complain.

Room was pleasent. A bit lived in but better than I expected. Based on the location I was expecting a very late night, but turned out OK. This was a wednesday night though.

Black mould between tiles. But generally for what I paid for this was the only thing that I didnt like. But Mattress was a little soft for my liking. And also, though i wasn't kept up by bars... the 6am key delivery did wake me up. But its not that bad really.

Old, reasonably well-maintained pub-stay, with great staff but difficult to get to.

In one sense, the location is great in that it is in the heart of the city and walking distance to a lot of cafes, pubs and clubs. The staff were super-helpful and made us feel very welcome.

On the other hand, the location makes the hotel very difficult to get to (especially with suitcases and bags), as it is completely surrounded by other properties. Long and winding staircases need to be navigated to get the the upstairs rooms. The hot water was not working during our stay, and the weekend DJ music is very noticeable in the room (up to 2am!)

Misleading and disappointing.

The location was central as described. Spacious room with coffee and tea-making facilities. Clean.

The bar was playing music at such a loud volume that the floor and all the furniture in our room was vibrating with the bass until the early hours of the morning. We couldn’t get to sleep until it stopped after 2am. Half of the lights in the bathroom didn’t work, I didn’t shower as I didn’t want to do in the dark. We wanted to confirm the parking recommendations detailed at the time of booking but the member of staff we asked just shrugged his shoulders at us. The initial booking also stated breakfast would be available that we could book at check-in but we were informed on arrival that this was not available. This was a tremendously disappointing stay.

When looking for a booking there is no mention of the noise from the venues events. Only once I had booked the room, did the notice pop up on the screen that there will be noise from the courtyard until 11pm and a final shut down at 2am. Unfortunately, we found the case to be that there was loud noise, coming from inside and outside the building until 2am. I can appreciate that the hotel is a night time venue, but then my advice would be to NOT host guests over the weekends.

We arrived at a really busy time due to the races and had to wait a while until the manager could be found to check us in, but room was clean comfy and spacious and we enjoyed the outdoor DJ when we arrived back from a night out!

Fantastic location

Amazing location, right in the city centre close to everything! Lovely big room with very comfy beds and great bathroom with bath and shower. It's very good value for money. Just for people's information, please do note that the entertainment at weekends is VERY loud , the hotel is very upfront about this , but we were still surprised just how loud it was, and well into the early hours! If you're looking for a relaxing, early night then it's not the place for you! If you're looking for somewhere fun and lively and at the heart of the city, it's brilliant.

The stairs area leading from the bar to the rooms lets the place down a little, in need of some tlc but it's a minor thing.

Lovely facilities in the Byron Room, including a four poster bed, living room with fridge, wall TV & full tea/coffee. Lovely spacious, clean, modern bathroom. Expect loud music till early hours at the weekend, but as we were part of this & enjoyed the party atmosphere, it was not a problem.

Amazing value, perfect location

Location is perfect, slap bang in the middle of the city. Don't be put off by the rather grubby hallway and stair carpets. My room was clean and spacious with a huge bathroom. Amazing value for money given the location and I would make a point of staying here again

Lovely place in a great location

Location is absolutely amazing, right in the heart of where you want to be as a tourist. Staff where very friendly.

Karaoke at the bar was a little loud in our bedroom but we expected it. If we wasn't getting up early the next day we would of stayed downstairs for it!
