Great base from which to explore Chester!

Alison was so helpful and explained what to see in Chester with great enthousiasm, sharing anectdotes too and lending me a book on the haunted aspects of the city. Room number 2 is nicely decorated, quiet and spacious, and well equipped. The location of the guesthouse is fantastic and extremely central. Great base from which to explore Chester!

We would definitely stay here again.

The location was very good and the hosts were great. The room was big enough for us, quiet, clean, warm and comfortable. We were at the top of the building so there were a few stairs to contend with, but not a problem unless you have mobility issues. All things considered, we would definitely stay here again and we intend to return in the summer.

The shower cubicle was a tight fit, but the other rooms may have more spacious ones if you aren't a compact shape yourself.

Comfortable Stay in the Heart of Historic Chester

A fantastic location, about 150m from the Rows. So one can easily reach all attractions on foot, without it being too close to all the noise of the main streets. The room was comfortable and had all the amenities needed for a visit to Chester. The hosts were very friendly and informative. The checking in and out processes were clear and easy.

I have never been so offended in my life. Not returning, ever, and would not recommend. Hosts accused us of smoking in our room. When we assured we would never do such a thing, they pointed to - and I quote - "Circumstancial evidence": - That we had arrived late - that we had a noise complaint (we were three people in a room talking, and we were not even that loud, but the noice carries far in this building), and - that we went out for drinks at night. Very prude and judgemental. Claimed they had never had a room smell that bad of cigarettes, but when we asked to come inside and smell it for ourselves, we were denied access. Claimed they had to have a deep clean of the room, yet we never saw any cleaning crew entering nor exiting all day - which we spent at the pub across the street, so we had clear view of the entrance. Honestly, it made us suspect a cleaning scheme was going on. Caution is adviced.

Alison and Dave are a lovely couple providing comfortable and cosy accommodation in a very convenient location 😀 . Helpful with recommendations and even booked my taxi to the train station. Highly recommend 👌 👍

There was no breakfast but that was made clear at the booking.

The situation and parking went well and the rooms were spotless.

The room and ensuite were both finished perfectly but the size of the room was very small. It was described as an economy room and should possibly be reserved for a singleton.

The room was very small .Couldn't swing a cat in it. The kettle leaked everytime I poured the water out of it for a drink .

Fabulous place, if coming back to Chester I'd stay here again

Superb location and easy to find on foot. Very clean and comfortable, everything in the room worked great. The host was super friendly with great advice on where to go during my stay.

The water pressure in the shower was poor but still manageable - this was the only downside!

Two Night Stay.

We liked the fact it was close to the town and attractions. The beds in both rooms were comfortable.

The single room was not as advertised. It was very small, no storage, a cracked tile with rough edges in the shower, and when picking up something from the floor it was very dusty. Disappointing!
