Perfect place to stay

Unique, quirky pub with a cosy traditional feel and great location to all local amenities.

Fantastic location, lovely decor and all the facilities you need are provided in the room. The pub itself is cosy and full of quirky features, I'd definitely stay again. Breakfast was also delicious!

Lovely pub. Very warm & welcoming staff. Lovely room. Very comfy bed. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Tea tray in the room was excellent. Breakfast staff were very friendly and attentive.

Bathroom cold tap didnt really work properly, toilet flush was very temperamental, some black hairs on bed. No area to do hair/make up etc properly, no full length mirror

Excellent location, value for money, friendly and helpful staff

The location is excellent for the City Centre but not too busy as it is tucked along a lane. Lovely traditional pub with extremely helpful staff. Free car parking (after 2pm) opposite is a huge bonus. Breakfast was superb.

Lovely old and quirky pub with great friendly staff and a good selection of beers and other drinks. The bedrooms are above the pub so very convenient. There was no food available in the bar (although before we arrived we were told burgers and steaks would be available) so we got a takeaway pizza and ate it in the room. The breakfast was great - freshly cooked and delicious Would stay there again.

We stayed in Room 1 and the bed was a bit creaky. But we did love the ‘old’ quirky decor.

Really lovely pub, great vibe and cool interior, friendly and welcoming staff. Room was so nice and breakfast freshly made and delicious. Great location with parking available just opposite. Would highly recommend.

Superb location close to the River Dee. Close to all the amenities. Spacious pub with great staff . We also had a lovely breakfast and again the service and quality was brilliant.

A wonderful stay in Chester

Great central location - also close to a big parking nearby; very convenient! Top notch english breakfast. Lovely & cozy design of the rooms. Charming pub with amazing atmosphere and a good cask beer selection. Lovely team who made our stay warm and prepared a nice surprise for my wife's birthday. Glad we were able to book it.

Nothing I can think of. Just the narrow staircase if you have a big bag (we did not have any issue with carry-on and 2 backpacks) - is expected from B&Bs like this.

Characterful and historic pub with extremely friendly staff. They kindly provided secure storage for our bicycles. Good value meals in the bar. Convenient location for visiting the city walls and town of Chester.

Parking . You have to park your car in a car park just meters away but after 3pm then you don’t have to pay . Got there to early had to park somewhere else for a while. Not to much of a problem something your not told till you get there.

Nice stay to visit Chester

A very old hotel with a lot of charm and personality. The room was very nice, the breakfast simply fantastic, the staff friendly, and the cozy atmosphere in the Pub made the stay perfect. Chester is always worth a visit.

The bathroom was quite dark and very warm because the heating could not be turned off.

The only minor thing - but this is not unique to this place, is that the bed had a footboard - yes it makes the bed look nice, but for tall folk it's an absolute mare !! At least the one here had holes in it, so not as bad as it could have been.
