Great location, fabulous breakfast and fun themed rooms.

Breakfast was brilliant - freshly made to order and a good selection. The coffee was great too. The family room was nice and big and considering the pub had open mic on, we weren't really able to hear much noise - and didn't mind it anyway. Loved the concept of the themed rooms, it made it fun. The place was clean and the staff were very helpful and pleasant, nothing was too much trouble.

I think in the family room it would have been great if you could pay for an extra trundle style bed, so that a family of five could stay there instead of having a second room (as it meant we had to split up our group). The place is a little tired (but as mentioned was still very clean).

Room was cold, bed was hard with a very thin mattress and duvet bath was filthy was definitely not worth the money, had a low beam as well which was very dangerous

Amazing location. Didn't try the food but it looked good. Good band on til Midnight, don't expect to sleep before then (although my wife managed to!) Nice quirky little place and very good value.

Bathroom was a bit dated but better than my expectations from previous pubs that I have stayed in.

A most enjoyable stay overall, staff were very welcoming and courteous.

Arrival was straight forward and easy to book in, the ambience of the bar and hotel were excellent, breakfast was fabulous and hearty, the staff were attentive and polite. We had travelled to see a band perform and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We also purchased some bar food which was out of this world, giant portions and very well prepared and presented.

The room was a bit cold to be honest but that's to be expected on a cold January night .

The beds where uncomfortable I wouldn't stay with kids again the room was not sound proof and we could here the music going all night and pigeons so had a very poor sleep

Stay ruined by loud music.

Location

Band was playing extremely loud live rock music till around 3am, then music from the jukebox till 4am, didn’t sleep a wink. I’ve stayed in dozens of pubs/hotels with live musics till late, but this was in another level. Everything about the stay was fine apart from this which totally ruined it. I would not stay again. This was a Saturday night.

Convenient stay in Chester. Great pub/hotel with a friendly atmosphere.

The host Lee was very friendly and accommodating. Couldn’t do enough for us. Quirky decorated room nice and clean.

Very uncomfortable and would not visit again.

The staff were nice and friendly the pub was good.

The room was too small. It was a hazard getting out of bed. The bed was lumpy and broken in places where gaffa tape was used to hold it together, pillows very flat. The lamp couldn’t stand on the bed side from as it was too big for the space. The shower cubicle had black marks where the tiles and base met.

Location was good Friendly staff, very helpful

Cleanliness of room, towel at the back of the toilet because of leaking. tiles coming off the wall. Hot water only at certain times. Decor drab, needs updating, carpet threadbare, loose floor boards.Room and bathroom needs updating and modernising. For the price of the room breakfast should be included

Great location and night out

The bar the energy and vibes the rock themed rooms the price of drinks reasonable good location didnt even need to go to other pubs for a good night.

The wait for drinks at the bar needed more staff on. The rooms could do with abit of a revamp very dated and the mattress was very old and hard and the knobs on the bed was stuck on with black gaffa tape. The price for what it was maybe alittle high too but would still return and recommend to others. Oh and please fix the toilet seats in ladies

Great pub stay in central Chester

Staff were really friendly and helpful. Room was spacious and very clean. Slept really well. They allowed our 2 dogs to stay. The bar downstairs was handy and had an open mic session that evening. Great location, went for a lovely meal across the road.

Excellent Rock bar pub hotel with rock theme rooms

Really easy to find on Grosvenor street. Secure parking is about 500m down the street. Check in was quick and simple and the location is very close to the Main Street into the city centre. The place is really fun quirky and does exactly what it says on the tin! Would stay here again live music was off the hook!

The rooms are very run down New mattress are needed on the beds The bathroom was falling apart wood all rotten round the bath tiles falling off the walls mold and ceiling falling down the toilet was leaking water all over the floor

Beautiful building and very close to the racecourse. I was taking part in the marathon, the staff were lovely and let me keep my room so that I could shower and change before driving home 😊

Great expirience in each way

Great place for stay or just for drink. Excellent food. Even if you are not fan of rock that place is nice for everyone. Staff is friendly and helpful. Accommodation bit unusual but clean, comfy and cosy. And food exceptional… everything home made tasty for a great price. Try Sunday roast selection or them burger Mega Stag you will not forget that experience for long. Breakfast good price for something very tasty.

Food was well priced and interesting. Staff excellent. Late night food options a bonus.

Some small maintenance issues in the Kiss room. The bedknobs were loose exposing a bare metal tube which snagged clothes and scratched.

Great stay

Warm welcome and very friendly throughout.. Delicious breakfast and plenty of tea, coffee, fruit juice being offered throughout. Great evening entertainment and plenty of staff serving the bar. Room well equipped with tea and coffee etc and toiletries. We felt that nothing was too much trouble. Asked for hairdryer for room and it was delivered to us within a couple of minutes. Lovely stay and we will return.

Minor thing, the rooms are great but maybe would benefit from a little freshen up as in fresh coat of paint etc BUT this did NOT affect our stay in anyway. The room was clean and comfortable and we loved the theme 😊

The rooms were dated and the bed was most uncomfortable in the “kiss band room”. They need to change the mattress or at least get a mattress pad. It felt like I was sleeping on the box spring.

The Saddle Inn was absolutely fantastic! The location and accommodation were perfect for our stay. Staff were incredibly helpful and friendly throughout. You can really see the effort that’s been put into decorating the rooms and the whole place—so many thoughtful details that make it feel special. We stayed in the Megadeth room and loved it! The pub itself was great too: lovely drinks, tasty food, and really welcoming staff. We also met the landlord, and you can clearly see his passion for the place—it genuinely comes through in the atmosphere. It’s also pet-friendly, which was a big bonus for us. Just a note: if you’re not looking for somewhere very quiet (it is a rock pub, after all!), you’ll definitely enjoy the energy and vibe here. Highly recommended!

Short break to Chester

Nice place good location friendly staff, stayed 3 nights mid week had open mic night on Wednesday night which was good. Dog friendly which was a bonus because we travel a lot work our dog , hopefully will return some time in the future 😏🤟

Great stay at the Saddle Inn

The saddle Inn is a lovely rock inspired pub/hotel . I stayed in the Metallica room and it was great, had everything you need. Very good value for money as well. The staff that sorted the room out for me was lovely and she was very helpful! Breakfast was pretty good too!

Great place

Staff, food, entertainment were all brilliant, had a great night in the pub. Breakfast was good quality and plenty of it. Just a short walk to all that Chester town centre had to offer. Would definitely stay again.
