Lovely hotel in a great location with everything you need

Superb location,comfy room, nice evening meal. Breakfast huge let down

Location spot on, spacious room, very comfortable bed, nice evening meal.

Having paid for breakfast in stay the Continental Breakfast was terrible, was instructed by waitress one item per column of 3 on menu, mine consisting of cereal, kiwi fruit, & coffee. Any other items were charged for . Very poor value for money.

Great hotel, shame about the breakfasts

Beautiful rooms and great location

Breakfast choices were OK but having no buffet option or hot option included is odd. This needs o be much clearer that there are hidden costs including those for more than 1 coffee etc.

We liked it was close to walk into the city centre.

It was a lovely room with a great view and a comfortable bed. Although on the flip side the breakfast service on the weekend was pretty bad. We waited a long while for our order to be taken and it wasn't particularly busy. The couple that came in behind us actually got up and left after half an hour as they still hadn't had their order taken. It was better service on the weekday morning. We also only had one towel so we had to share, unusual for any hotel. The main bar downstairs is only open for functions. Would I stay again, probably not.

Not worthy of four stars, nor your time.

Good location, 10/15 mins walk from all the essential parts of Chester. Good customer service listening to complaint of a friend listed below.

Not in anyway shape or form, worthy of four star quality rooms - not enough light (no ceiling light above the bed for example and the lights next to the bed offer little to nothing) no fridge in the room, mediocre Television. No sockets next to bed either, which is the first time I've ever seen that in a four star hotel. My own bed was just ok. As of February 2026 the revolving entrance door was not working. How long has it been like that I wonder... Likewise, The bar/lounge was not open for business. Car park is sincerely an utter joke - far too few spaces and the "overflow" was even smaller than an already small carpark. Nothing about "limited car parking space" (which would be an honest description) on this site so we had every right to assume that there would be enough space for every resident. The hotel charges an almighty 20 pounds for 24 hours access (which is twice and a bit more than the local Council owned space 5 mins walk away from the hotel) But if a hotel offers parking it should be able to provide it, no ifs nor buts. Friend stayed in the infamous room 102 which has a noisy generator all night - long reported by several other customers of the hotel - either not acted upon from the initial complaints (is what it seems to me) or that the work previously undertaken has not been successful and more is required. Didn't obviously have that issue myself as wasn't staying in that room but it's not good to hear about it and the general vibe (not working revolving door, no bar/lounge, car parking situation) makes me feel that the overall higher bosses just don't care. Building feels neglected, overall vibe of lethargy, and that because of the location people will continue to use the hotel and money will continue to be made regardless.

Great apart from being woken up often during the night by an “alarm type” beeping.

Central, clean, warm, welcoming

A “three-beep” alarm type noise going off at an interval of approx. around 1/2 hour all through the night. ( not sure but might have been coming from a fire alarm in the ceiling in the hallway outside the bedroom). I did report it to the receptionist as I booked out in the morning. She did not show much interest in what I was saying - and did not make a note for maintenance repairs

The location and parking though limited are excellent. Chester centre is only a 5 minute walk and the hotel does have some very good restaurants close by.

The size of the room was appalling for the cost. The bathroom, well you could not swing a cat in it.

Breakfast service was very poor. Waited a long time to be served, no cutlery on table and when asked for some staff were put out by it. Spilt coffee when served and asked fur something to clean it up, never arrived and no refill on drinks.

Nice little break.

Room and hotel in general was lovely, staff pleasant and good location.

Casting on TV didn’t work, rang reception for assistance and they didn’t know how to work it so couldn’t use the advertised facility. The bath leaked when used so had to get out.

The cleanliness of the room and how cold the room was the shower mat was disgusting we do have photos complained in reception they did re room us but that room was better and why did they not put us in a decent room first ? But the cleanliness was not much better photos attached we were not offered a refund or a drink or even a complimentary breakfast will not stay here again

Good location & hotel - but if taking dog make sure you do full homework

Great location away from the hustle and bustle, and good parking option.

When we booked, we called to check its dog friendly. Agreed to pay £20 extra per night to take the dog. We actually had to then ‘upgrade’ the room also, which was a further £20 per night therefore cost us an extra £40 per night. With this in mind if we’d been informed correctly we would have stayed elsewhere as I don’t believe this was reasonable.

Incredible!!

The room was amazing, the location was fantastic, and all the staff were superb and incredibly helpful. The rooftop restaurant was a wonderful addition. I couldn’t find a single fault it’s the best room we’ve stayed in this year. We had an awesome time and will definitely stay again and recommend it to others.
