Villa Ubud Heart - Walkable Private Villa in Ubud Centre

The villa is in a great location for exploring Ubud on foot, there is an array of restaurants, shops and walking trails surrounding the property.

We were woken early by the neighbours animals, and a very vocal rooster.

The villa is located on the street where shops, convenience stores and money changers are and also has a restaurant in front of the villa. An easy access to the town centre, just a walking distance from Ubud palace and Ubud water palace. Maria, the villa manager is always happy to help sort out logistics especially for our big family.

Location was good,you were in the hustle and bustle of the market street but couldn’t tell when you were in the Villa.

The bathrooms were quite dark and the sinks seem to drain very slowly,the drain could do with a gunk removal,it created a musty smell in the main bathroom,Incense was provided so we used it and it did the job while using the bathroom. The projector was out of order and looks like it had been for a while,we were keen to a family movie as a treat but couldn’t,again not a big issue but would have been a nice touch. Otherwise the Villa was great. We didn’t met Maria(the host)and found communication limited in comparison to other Villa’s. The family at the front of the Villa were always friendly and also very smile. Markets are directly out the front selling lots of lovely items including many sarongs,my youngest daughter accidentally took the one that was on the bed,thinking it was ours(as we purchased some from the market)Maria was quite upset and wanted me to send it back,tired to but if you don’t speak Indonesian it’s tricky,as you have to do it through an App for a motorbike to come and collect it. I offered to pay and apologised for the mistake and she declined for us to pay,finally she said it was a special fabric ,after many messages. I asked the Villa manager at our new accommodation in Seminyak,if he could help ,which he did and agreed that it’s a tricky process if you don’t know what you’re doing. I found Maria very intense with this interaction and she basically accused us of purposely taking it and saying we didn’t want to pay for postage ,If we wanted it ,I wouldn’t have responded to her on WhatsApp,when she asked about it. Anyway for this reason I wouldn’t stay there again and I’m sure most wouldn’t have this situation happen. Again the Villa, other staff,and the location was great.

we stayed 2 nights with a family of 5. The villa is in the middle of a market street and consists of multiple rooms around a pool/ garden. What we liked: - spacious - lovely pool and garden - friendly people and staff - lovely pets - fruit as a welcome gift

what we didn’t like: - humidity in the rooms, it smelled like mould - thick, fluffy mould growing on the bathroomwalls - the bathroomsink didn’t drain (very slowly) - all, but one bed, very saggy and soft Way too expensive for what it is!
