It was in a decent location

The doors didn’t close properly. Towels were never replaced or offered to be replaced. There was ‘mystery blood’ that appeared all over the floor of our room while we were out, no signs of animals but staff refused to answer when questioned if they had been in the room. We were woken up rudely at 6:30am when they demanded money to pay additional costs for the AC, we had to turn it on at midnight as it was too hot in the room and planned to pay when we went for breakfast. The breakfast was passable at best, would recommend going out instead. We paid for laundry to be done, it was returned to us the next day still very wet, everything needs to be washed again. Staff in general saw our presence as a burden.

Kabera has an excellent location, very close to everything, which makes the stay extremely convenient. The staff is wonderful — always kind, attentive, helpful, collaborative, and flexible, making us feel truly welcome. The breakfast offers a great variety of options to choose from, and the environment is quiet and peaceful, perfect for resting. I wish a Happy New Year to the entire team, filled with many achievements, success, and great accomplishments.

The only point I would mention is the fan in the room. I’m not sure if it was an issue with the specific room I stayed in or if the fan was simply older. It had five ceiling fan speed levels, but it only worked on level five and did not really ventilate — it was spinning, but without producing noticeable airflow. Because of the heat, I had to sleep with the door open every night to make it more comfortable. Another small point is the shower. I’m used to taking hot showers, and although the accommodation offers hot water, it didn’t seem to heat up properly during my stay. So I ended up taking very quick showers. For guests who are used to hot water, this might cause a bit of discomfort. I’m not sure if this was specific to my room or a general issue, and I could have asked the staff to check it, but since I stayed only three nights and arrived quite late every day, I didn’t end up requesting assistance. The pool area felt a bit cooler than Uluwatu, so the stay was not 100% uncomfortable, but I did regret choosing a room with only a fan due to the heat. On the positive side, the internet connection is excellent and works perfectly. I didn’t use the pool, but it looks very clean and well maintained — I personally saw the staff cleaning and treating it during my stay. At breakfast, some of the cutlery showed visible signs of wear, which can feel slightly uncomfortable if you’re used to higher-quality standards. Nothing that affected the experience significantly, but it’s something worth noting. Overall, considering the price and what is offered, the stay delivers 100% of its value.

The location is great and is tucked away do its nice and quite. This place used to be nice but noone looks after it now. I got a large room with 2 big beds and bathroom but the fan wobbled, the sink tap was broken, its wasn't clean at all. Shame to let it get so bad. Pool was fine and breakfast was nice. Honestly not worth saving the money. Too gross

I love staying here. The staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful. Good value for money and in a central location, within walking distance to everywhere. The room was clean and tidy, with shower and bath. A nice patio outside the room, with table and chairs sit and chill. Swimming pool on the property, free breakfast and access to coffee throughout the day. I will definitely book again next time in Ubud. Thanks for the stay. ☺️🙏🏽

Not only are the conditions absolutely HORRIBLE with cockroaches and ants everywhere, the shower barely works with this very dirty looking bathtube that looks like it’s never been cleaned. AND they tried to tell booking.com that I didn’t pay good job my friend recorded me making payment!!!! DO NOT STAY HERE

The room was quite bad. The mattress was really uncomfortable and there was a horrible stench in the toilet. The water pressure was basically non existent so we couldn’t shower properly. Good options for breakfast but there is a serious ant infestation in the eating area. I found 3 cooked ants in my pancake, so that put me off. There is a foundation here for a really good place to stay. Serious work needs to be done.

If you go in thinking that you are paying a family to stay at their home you will be fine, because this is a family home

The pool was great, the locations spectacular. The breakfast was actually very good. The hosts where nice. The room and bathroom was spacious.

We booked 5 days from which we only stayed 4 because the room had very strong humidity smell, and you could see why from the walls, the wall to the side of the bed head rest was very bad and humid. Every time we wake up or when coming back from outside we could see the paint dust in bed head area and floor. The bed was not too comfy. No one enter the room to clean or change sheets or take out rubbish in those 4 days. The water pressure is from a pump which turned off by itself every now and then. Only one light in the room so is quite dark. This is out of the hosts hands but be aware that there is lots of mosquitoes and lizards everywhere.

Pool was very claustrophobic and not really to use. Door to our room was a padlock, you could push open and a small child could enter. Was not the most reassuring thing. We used 3 padlocks and put a chair behind the door. Noise from Mosques as always a problem to stop you sleeping

Our stay here was great! Such good value for money. The breakfast is really yummy and the staff are super helpful. We rented a bike through them which saved us a lot of money as they’re more expensive on the street.
