Great value and experience

We like the big villa and surrouding environment. It was a very comfortable experience. The room is very clean and comfortable, we walked in surrounding streets and it was very relaxing. The breakfast is actually starts at 8:30am but we thought it was 8:00am. We have an appointment to visit Chateau Chenonceau at 9:00am and after we told the host at 8:00am, he and the team quickly setup breakfast for us and we were able to have breakfast and get to the Chateau in time. We appreicate our host to go the extra mile for us and we highly recommend this place to stay.

Lovely location in a classic French Manor

Celine and James were very friendly and accommodating. They helped us make dinner reservations and gave us local travel tips. Very good breakfast in a nice setting. Very spacious room in this beautiful classic French manor. Nothing to do in Montlouis sur-Loire but a good central location between major locations in the area (Tours, Amboise).

Location is right off the highway so can be noisy. The windows shut the noise out 99% but this means you couldn't leave them open to get fresh air at night. AC was locked at a 22c minimum so the room got warm at night.

A magical stay full of nature, history, and warm hospitality

Le Clos du Roc is a spectacular place full of charm and history – surrounded by majestic trees over 200 years old and cared for by the kindest hosts. Our kids were thrilled with the outdoor space, board games, and garden toys, while we enjoyed a cozy room with a stunning view and a modern, comfortable bathroom. I can’t wait to return and stay longer to explore the nearby castles – we absolutely loved everything about it!

We had a very enjoyable time staying at this property.

We had the Duchess room, very large with high ceilings and despite being on the main road, you could not hear the traffic with double glazing. Bathroom a bit dated. Lovely building and grounds and short walk to the centre of Village From back gate of property. We hired bikes at the property and enjoyed the suggested cycling route into Tours, which was all flat and no hills.

Would have been nice to have been able to have a hard boiled egg with breakfast. We did ask but we told ‘NO’ 😕

We loved every minute of our time at Le Clos du Roc. From the moment we arrived we felt welcomed and our suite was beautiful. The hosts obviously love what they are doing and it really shows. Not only is the house beautifully decorated but the bed was super comfortable, the shower great, the pillows soft and comfortable, and the breakfast was incredible. The breakfast spread was extensive and if you visit you must try the home made yoghurt and Granola. If we were to visit the Loire Valley again, I would not hesitate to book here again. Do yourself a favour and make that booking. You will be pleased you did.

The location is spot on when you want to visit the chateaux and the wineries. The beautiful building and garden.The warm welcome of the hosts! ( and the dog!)The comfortable room ( although we got the last one which was much smaller than the others).the exquisite cuisine and beautiful wines. And last but not least a super charger for your electric car!

A gem, perfect for exploring the Loire

Perfectly located just outside Tour. Amazing hosts, great ambience, and super dog friendly. Maya, the house dog, is also adorable. Lovely grounds, room, and breakfast.

The road outside is quite busy however doesn't impact your stay.

Amazing base for the Loire Valley!

During our 2 week trip through England and France this was by far the best stay! From their dog’s initial greeting and leading us to the entry, the beautiful lodgings, kind staff, thoughtful layout of everything one might need in a room, delicious breakfast with homemade yogurt and baked goods, beautiful park to enjoy right outside, walkable proximity to restaurants and the river in a lovely small town, and an easy drive to enjoy more of the Loire valley.

Wonderful

We were on the final leg of a long journey from our home in Spain to the UK for Christmas and we had chosen this hotel for its location and tranquil look. It was fantastic. James and Celine were the best hosts and the whole experience was just what we needed. We left the following morning refreshed for the remaining journey. THOROUGHLY RECOMMENDED

Great place to stay in the Loire!!

What was not to like! - Beautiful big elegant bedroom with french doors and terrace looking out on the Loire River. Breakfast was delicious, with local and homemade delights. Great location and very friendly and helpful hosts. Celine and James have done a fabulous renovation of this historic building to make a home and B&B we really didn’t want to leave!!! Would highly recommend to all.

Lovely family run hotel

Lovely friendly family run hotel, nice rooms, lovely garden. Most of the food was either home made or locally sourced, including freshly squeezed orange juice and home made yogurt for breakfast. As the local restaurants were closed, we were offered a simple but excellent supper menu with local wine. Delicious and good value. Great place for either a stopover or longer break on the Loire. Highly recommend, we will return.

Beautiful stay in Montlouis Sur Loire!

The owners of Le Clos du Roc are lovely and helpful in every respect. The inn is in a quiet location that is perfect for visiting the chateaus of the Loire Valley. The dinner they prepared for us was fabulous, and it was a beautiful evening spent on their outdoor terrace. Highly recommended!
