The rooms were beautiful and the view spectacular. Bergamo itself was only a twenty minute walk away and the most charming place to visit. We would have liked to have stayed longer. Hosts were really helpful and friendly and we loved the breakfast.

Bergamo bus station will set you up with very low expectations, but stick it out. Once you get into Citta Alte, life changes dramatically. Nestled another kilometer up the hill is BnB Dimora Delle Donnole, a picturesque home set in the hills above Bergamo. This historic home is so well maintained, it carries the charm and mesmerizing craftsmanship of centuries prior with modern function and simplicity. An extremely soft and comfortable bed let me truly catch up on rest.. The walk from this BnB to the nearby citta alte is along a somewhat narrow road at parts, but it's smooth and scenic the entire way. Breakfast was traditional far, breads, meats, cheeses, cereals and yogurts with an array of spreads and such. I loved it here
Nothing bad about the BnB
The only detriment to the whole experience is with travel around the bus station. By all manner of sensibility, you would expect a town like Bergamo to have a more robust set of taxi options. It's either "spend hours refreshing your search for a taxi" or "that Uber you'd think will be 15€ for a 10 minute ride is actually 60€"
If I came back, I'd rent a car to be safe.
