Extended stay in Penzance

Landlord extremely helpful in accommodating our request to stay for 2 extra nights because the Isles of Scilly feature could not sail. Proximity to promenade was a bonus. Shower was fine. Continental breakfast was plentiful.

Continental breakfast lacked any form of protein other than cheese and yoghurt which could be an issue for dairy intolerant guests.

Keen to be back if we're ever in the neighbourhood!

Bernard was well organised on arrival and gave us all the information we didn't even think we needed - great local places to eat (we went to the Turks Head!), places of interest nearby, had feedback on our next destinations (great from someone local) and the continental breakfast spread was just what we needed in the morning. The room was well serviced, private and had everything we needed after a long travel day.

A lovely place to stay, would definitely recommend.

Great location. On street parking which was a bit tricky on the first day as it was busy, but actually there were plenty of places later on. Our host was great, very friendly and knowledgeable. The room was very clean and functional.

I didn't realise when I booked that the breakfast was continental but to be fair for the price it was still very good value. Lots of options and all fresh and good quality produce so no complaints.

Comfortable stay in renovated Victorian house

Good continental breakfast. Asked for an early breakfast, no problem. Helpfull host, lots of information . Our room 'Mousehole' was very spacious, quiet and comfortable if not luxurious. Parking in side street was no problem end of september.

We will not be going back

The room looked lovely but the bed was not comfortable and the pillows were really really bad. Flat and poor and frankly mean. The bathroom was quite funny…. If you sat on the loo, your knees just about touched the wall. The planning of the room which had space for a reasonably sized bathroom was bad. Again breakfast sounded as if it might be nice but we’d experienced it on our outward journey and the bread was not good. The coffee machine was ok but a cafetière would have been so much better and only fruit on offer was a banana or apple. Theo whole place felt mean actually and with not much expense, could have been so much better. Good pillow and a better mattress at least would have helped.

An extensive continental breakfast provided in the dining room by Bernard, the friendly and helpful owner. Proximity to eateries and town center as they are within easy walking distance.

Pleasant stay with a wonderful host

Our host was very kind. He provided a wonderful breakfast; toasted croissants, cereal & berries, tasty bread to toast with a variety of local jams. If you need recommendations from beaches, hikes to restaurants, the host was happy to recommend. Bedroom was a large size overlooking the street. Street parking was not a problem to find. Our host even shared about the tiled hallway and the meaning and history behind it. It was a perfect stay for my sister and I.

Shower was finicky - was hard to find a good temperature.

Beautiful old Victorian. Very nice clean bathroom. Lovely sitting room for tea and breakfast and to just relax.

The top floor steps are quite steep if you have luggage but Bernard is very helpful .

I stayed in 2 rooms on different nights. Both nights, the mattress (1 double; one single) felt comfortable for the first half hour or so, then my hips ached as if not supported properly. Both nights, I ended up sleeping on the floor. The mattresses looked in good condition - must have just been unsuitable for the shape of my bone structure.

Clean and very spacious room in attic. very nicely decorated and lovely touches - extra blankets, chairs to watch TV, plenty of towels and space for toiletries . lovely coffee and great range for continental breakfast.

Stairs a bit steep up to attic room but we were warned well in advance and given option to say if it was going to be a real problem. Kettle in room would have been nice but not a real issue.

Very nice stay!

The host was nice and gave very clear instructions. He helped to keep our luggage before the check-in time. The breakfast was amazing. Highly recommend. The location is walking distance from bus station and very close to Penzance promenade.
