It was good value for the money. It was very clean and comfortable.
It did take some time to find free parking opposite to be able to unpack the car. The bathroom is very tiny and I feel this needs to be reflected when advising the room. A person of a larger frame would really struggle to get in.

The mattresses are very uncomfortable and old. They should be replaced.

The bed was super comfy and the room was very big with a sofa in it. There was a bath and lots of hot water as well as very nice toiletries.
In the communal dining area there was a handy fridge freezer for all to use and breakfast making facilities. The whole place had a period feel with lots of memories from the host's travels and history. The little pond outside was a very calming place to sit too surrounded by fragrant blooms.

The aura. The decor. Cleanliness .Quiet. Good location for the Ferry Terminal which is a 20 minute walk.
In mid summer one does not need a high tog duvet with no other choice for bedding. No fan ; insufficient flow of air because window had a set limit. And bushes outside prevent flow of air into the room.
No breakfast on offer 😔...even a pot of yoghurt or shortbread or croissant with coffee in the dining area would have helped provide short term energy pulling luggage to the ferry terminal.
