Disappointing but maybe could work for one night for a hiker.

location.. perfect, two blocks from sea. I have hiked the SW Coast Path and the location just off the trail would have been good. The room wasn't very clean so coming in after a day's muddy hike might not be so bad, shower, out for dinner, sleep and a packaged in plastic breakfast/lunch might be OK.

The room was not clean. Bobby pins on floor from prior guest. Sugar on coffee table from prior guest. Cobwebs. Looked for lost shoe under bed, very dirty. They did change out kettle on my request as it was corroded. But, the bathroom and bedding seemed clean. The breakfast "hamper" was a plastic cafeteria tray either delivered to your room at 8 AM or left in the dining room at 8 AM. No other time was permitted. There were selections to be made by checklist the night before. Everything was in plastic containers. The freshly baked goods were store bought but heated --the only warm item offered. The simple sandwiches could be used on a hike later in the day. No variance from the checklist though. Never used so much plastic in my life. Coffee was only instant nescafe which I find undrinkable. Not much if any interface with host. Heat only worked sometimes and the room was too cold for me at night.

Dear Customer Services Please see my reply to this question below. You know we had serious issues with our stay at this property and I have already received a partial refund, I believe a full refund should be given. The description of the accommodation at Estoril on the booking.com website, is a misrepresentation of what it truly is. When we booked we had noted that the accommodation was highlighted for its cleanliness, in reality it was extremely dirty. The photographs on the website of the room were misleading, as were the photographs of the breakfast. We had no choice but to stay in that filthy accommodation for one night because it was late and raining. We were freezing cold due to the window being jammed open, obviously to try and mask the smell of damp. The dirt in the room was so ingrained, there was thick dust and dirt, everywhere and the carpets were particularly filthy dirty. There was mould everywhere in the bathroom, it was on the walls, as well as in the cracked tiles on the floor and shower. Even the bottle of bleach in the dirty cupboard was covered in mould. It was so horrible that we did not use the bathroom! My sister suffered from a lung condition and spent most of the night coughing and using her emergency medication. The next morning, we had no option but to trudge around penzance with our cases in the rain looking for alternative accommodation. If we do not receive a honourable reply from Estroril I will be pursuing a claim under the Misrepresentation Act.

Pleasant, comfortable , quiet. The location is near to the Marine walk along the shore

Clean , pleasant and homely. All facilities needed for a comfortable stay. Breakfast is pre ordered and is a light type , no cooked food, there is a downstairs dining room or one can have the meal delivered for a specific time , to eat in the room. There are coffee and tea facilities in the room.

The stairs up to the room that I occupied are very steep and if you have heavy baggage you should take great care , there is no elevator.

Beautiful hotel in a beautiful location

Really lovely hotel on a beautiful street right next to the stunning Morrab Gardens, and a nice small walk into town. Perfect for a few days stay. I hadn't been back to Penzance since I lived there 30 years ago so was very happy to have this as a base to go out exploring memory lanes.

It seems all accommodation in Penzance is very expensive, so this was the best deal. It was lovely to get a packed breakfast, though I'm a big lad and could have eaten quite a lot more :)

We had a nice stay here, I think it is reasonably priced.

The house was beautifully presented and the garden had lots of nice plants and a pond with koi karp. Our room was comfortable, and had all the amenities we needed. There was a form in our room for breakfast the next day, there was a wide variety of choices, you had the option to have breakfast brought to your door in the morning or to have it in the dining area. It's very close to the sea front, and has some beautiful parks near by. When we interacted with the staff, they were very friendly.

When we arrived, the bell on the desk didn't seem to work, and we couldn't find any staff, so we went for a walk until we could self check in at 15:00. Our room was clean in every other way, but it was very dusty, and the inside of the drawers smelt quite musty.

Dear little room under the eaves with a sea view, but rather cramped. And I had difficulty carrying my case up the very steep stairs. Wide choice for breakfast, including a filled roll which did for a packed lunch. Near the sea, the gardens and museums, and walking distance from the centre of town, so very convenient.

Someone to carry my case up and down would have helped greatly.

Beautiful breakfasts with fresh fresh seeded rolls and pastries. The location is EXCELLENT, so close to both the sea, pubs and shops. Beautiful walking through Morrab Tropical Gardens to get to the main streets. The bird song from our room every morning was just the best way to wake up!

Breakfast was in a brown paper bag and no coffee!! Was rly shocked never stayed at a decent hotel and not had coffee. I also don’t eat meat and specified no meat but got ham anyways. I also don’t eat gluten and couldn’t rly get anything but a tiny fruit salad. I do understand I eat limited but it’s much easier to go and help yourself and far far less wasteful. The whole breakfast in a bag thing just isn’t to my liking at all and ruined the stay and means I dropped my score a lot, at the price point you would expect a decent breakfast if it’s offered. I would rather come down and choose i just thought it was very wasteful and to not have a coffee and only a packet of instant in the room was something Ive never experienced before at a decent hotel. At least it’s located a few minutes from places to get a nice coffee like the honey pot I would recommend or 45 queen street. I didn’t find the staff that friendly either, they are quite short and blunt, I’m surprised that it was advertised as being somewhat Buddhist because I felt that asking any questions or being asked something was very blunt and impersonal.

Nice spot, just out of town in a quiet neighbourhood but still in easy walking distance of the front and the town centre. The hotel is a beautiful old house all decorated in a cool old style. Breakfast was really great too!

Beds to soft for us. Second staircase was steep and kinda scary. Entrance to property being tiled, looks lovely but when wet it’s a hazard. Sign is appreciated but walking on it felt risky.

Location was perfect. Room very clean and comfortable. breakfast delivered to room in morning was good.

Well presented, near to the beach. Very clean and a decent system to be able to check in any time.

The shower head in our room (8) was missing it’s rubber ‘nozzles’ leaving the plastic head with large holes in it, this resulted in the shower being very under pressured and most of the water running back down the head/hose. this could be remedied with a simple change of the shower head. Also parking is very limited, though with a little investigation there is a reasonably priced car park within a short walk.
