The ethos of a family run hotel… obviously very caring and supportive to their team which gets relayed to guests such as myself…
A fear that hotels such at The Queen cannot survive due to the pressure of impersonabke powrhouses such as Prem Inn. Mutual loyalty was evident at the Quuens unlike Prem Inn where employees have learnt they are easily disposable …

It is what it is, a nice value for money hotel which like all seaside locations has seen better days but is still well worth a stay and with a team who work hard.
This is an old hotel so expect noise from other rooms, bathroom extractor fans and creaking floor board. Rear facing rooms are just that so upgrade if you can afford to. Breakfast is good but if you need to get away make sure you ger there with to spare as it's not rushed.

Dated. Lots of steps.

Location great, really central for Penzance and surrounding area. Breakfast as usual excellent. Staff welcoming and polite. Room nice and roomy, love having a couple of tub chairs and table to be able to sit at and look out over the sea/promenade to people watch, bed comfortable with plenty of pillows. Looking forward to my next stay

Location was stunning and decorated for Christmas was a beautiful extra.rooms were elegant and great views even in the stormy wild winter weather .breakfast choices were fabulous and staff were very helpful and friendly.bar was a pleasant snug for a nightcap .staircase was gorgeous .hearing ocean from my room was great .plenty of tea and coffee sachet in the room too .
Shower had a water lock or something than rendered it noisy ...probably worse for other guests to listen to than me .didn't effect the water flow too much .first night I was cold but after checking with staff they made sure the radiator was on so my remaining nights were very comfortable.

Close to the centre of town and excellent views from the sea view rooms across the promenade. Accessible. Staff friendly and welcoming. Nice menus.
Could do with some updated interiors particularly. Bathrooms, poor condition of paint and tiles, wallpaper peeling. Interior of corridors etc could do with refresh.

The room and bed were comfortable. Breakfast and dinner meals were quite good.
Reception should have advised that the room was on a level between floors where the lift stopped. ie you had to lug your suitcase either up or down to the floor once you go through a fire door.

The food was excellent. A good substantial breakfast.
The staff very friendly and courteous
The bathroom could have been a bit more modern and there was enough space in it to have had a walk-in shower plus bath if still needed.

always a fabulous view from the dining room but when the sun comes out it gets very hot even in the winter. Perhaps some blinds would help.
I still don't like my bin not being emptied every day.

The room was fab, large with a lovely view of the prom and sea. Breakfast was plentiful and the cooked breakfast was always hot. All the staff were superb, friendly and nothing was any problem for them. A credit to the hotel.
Absolutely nothing!

I upgraded to a seaview family room, which was fabulous, & very spacious.

The cooked breakfast was good, with a good choice of options. The hotel is in a perfect location with excellent views from the restaurant of Mount's Bay. A professional well run hotel was my impression. Pleasant staff.
Some things felt a little stingy for a 3 star hotel, but for £100 a night with breakfast I was quite happy. Some breakfast options weren't offered but had to be asked for e.g. jam or marmalade. When asked for toast only one slice provided. Absence of any yoghurts etc. Also rooms are not routinely attended on a daily basis, but only once in a 5 night stay unless requested the night before

Loved the history of the hotel, it's location and staff that went above and beyond. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Yes, the building is tired in places, but it's old and huge and, in our eyes, this only added interest to our lovely stay. Clean and comfortable airy rooms.

Breakfast was taken at a dining room overlooking the sea. The food was excellent and the service good.
The poor old Queens is looking tired. Stop it needs a full refurbishment, but I guess that could cost a lot of money.

Location right on the seafront, and only a short walk from the train station. Excellent breakfast with a varied menu and a good bar !
All round comfort with tea/coffee biscuits provided in the room.
Just a minor point but a mini fridge to store provisions might be useful. Rooms didn’t have a/c on warm summer days but portable fans are provided which were adequate.

The location is fabulous, plenty of parking. Even though the hotel is on the older side, the rooms are very clean and well maintained. Breakfast was very good, staff are friendly. Very good value.

We had sea view, which was lovely, its was windy so windows rattled, but we didn’t mind, the location was great!
Very late check-in and they don’t service rooms, even on request

location good
The dining room staff are friendly and make a good effort to please
The 'back' stairs which I had to take to reach my room were very unfriendly. I used the emergency stairs to exit on one occasion.
On day 1, I found that the electric power had failed. No 'house' phone as it needed power, so I used my mobile to contact reception. Response - "Oh - We have been having a bit of a problem in that part of the hotel!" It failed again during my stay - Clearly a known problem which they had not bothered to rectify. The whole building has a run-down feeling.

The restaurant meals were well priced and very nice. A good selection choice at Breakfast and dinner
A lovely day lounge to sit and have an afternoon drink with great views of the ocean.
Guest car parking.
Shower had to run for 10 minutes before hot water came through
TV remote broken. Had to Google manual instructions to operate.
Beds were ok but could be better.
No fridge.

Location and sea view and car park.
A bit sad and faded.
Clearly it is being redecorated and it’s a big old building so costly.
Bar area very nice.

Lovely sea view from my room. The staff were friendly and helpful.
When I arrived, I struggled to get my case up the stairs from the car park to reception. I later found there was a ramp at the front of the building.
