Location by train station. Atmosphere and good beer. Room comfy and good size for an old pub.
Tried to book meal in advance through website. No reply and table not available either night.

A bit noisy at times

Great location, only a few yards from the bus and rail stations, the Longboat is a traditional old pub, with plenty of character. The staff were amazingly friendly, the breakfasts generous and great value for money. Because it’s an old building, the single room was indeed small and the TV about the size of a cereal packet, so you should probably bring binoculars should you wish to watch it.
Food in the restaurant was good, with again generous portions
It would have been helpful to have more plug sockets that were easy to access, but the wi-fi worked well.
The bar area is dominated by TVs and sports so not ideal for a quiet pint

The room was spacious with everything I needed for my one night stopover whilst house hunting. The staff were excellent, so friendly and helpful, giving me great advice on the areas I was house hunting in. The dinner and breakfast in the downstairs pub were superb.
The room was a tad on the cold side despite me putting the radiators up full. I ended up spending the evening working in the bed with the duvet and blankets keeping me warm.

A beautiful old country pub with a very comfortable room. Breakfast each morning was delicious and served to us by a very cheery gentleman. Staff were amazingly friendly and very attentive to our needs.
We loved everything. We thought being a pub it may be a little noisy at night, but this was not the case.

I have stayed at the Longboat and knew what to expect. The fact I have been so often means this is going to be a very favourable review. It is always a nice place to be and it is helped by being so close to Penzance station. This year there was one additional pleasure, staying in the same room though I had booked two different rooms for different parts of my six night stay. Nice evening meal. The staff are always very helpful. The Longboat remains a place I like. I recommend the Chinese and Indian restaurants in Penzance in particular. Also go to the Greek seal sanctuary. St Michael’s Mount is interesting if the tidal causeway is open.
Happy with all my stay.

This visit was an extension of my first two nights and everything I said in my previous review applies. A great stay, as always !
Very happy with my entire stay.

Location is right across the road from the railway station at the bottom of the main shopping street which makes it nice and quiet. Breakfast is excellent.
The room we stayed in was ok but the en-suite was cramped.

Single room liwer eate option. Lively atmosphere in pub on arrival. Friendly, helpful staff. Nearness to town and station. Comfortable bed. Left luggage option for guests. 'Room only' option works well for people travelling on early in the morning
Bar shut at 10pm. I wasn't warned of early closure. Lay out of room was poor. Traffic noise was disruptive. Had to ask for herbal tea option in room.. Shower door very noisy and difficult to open.. Toilet smelled of drains. Sound proofing not brilliant. Kept awake by the man who was snoring in a nearby room.

Excellent location: very close to train and bus stations and Laundrette across the street. Food was very nice in the restaurant/pub. Shared lounge with large window with a lovely view.
Room overlooked pub beer garden but otherwise no view. Plumbing issue in the bathroom was not completely resolved during our stay.

Slightly awkward stairs but otherwise ok.

Location, charm, food
Table booking system was rather strange. Sit down for a drink of two then it’s reserved. Where does one then go?

A step away from the train and bus stations. It’s also very well positioned for easy access to the town centre. The room was comfortable and clean. The pub offers evening meals.
The food could have been better but it may be that the menu is more fish and meat focused. I found the vegetarian option rather disappointing.

Nice place to stay near the railway station, within a walking distance from the ferry terminal, and a long walk to St Michael's Mount. Comfortable, silent room with all the necessary amenities. Breakfast is really good and the staff is amazing.
A bit pricey, considering the end of the season

The location is perfect - right beside the train station. Food in the pub below is very good.
The room I was initially put in had some “issues.” TV did not work for the bulk of the time and the bed felt very worn in (it slanted to one side.) There was also a mildew smell in the bathroom. When notified of the issues, I was upgraded to a much better room with no issues. Many thanks to Ryan at the front desk for his amazing help and cheerful attitude!

Very friendly and efficient welcome from the staff. Location brilliant for a one night stay, near the quay and rail station. Able to have a meal after our arrival from the Scilly Isles ferry. Warm and comfortable bed.
The bathroom was very small, and the toilet in our room was extremely low and uncomfortable. The shelf over the small sink was inconvenient too when brushing teeth!

Staff were excellent and ready to help. The room was clean, if a little cramped. Everything worked.Breakfast was plentiful, with a good range of choice and promp waiter service.
Advance advice that dinner tables get booked up!

We stayed for three nights at The Longboat Inn. The food was really nice, and the location is excellent — right next to Penzance Railway Station and the Harbour Bus Station, which makes it very easy to visit places like St. Michael’s Mount, Mousehole, Land’s End, Minack Theatre, and even St. Ives by bus.
It’s a budget-friendly hotel with great food and free breakfast, which is a big plus.
Other than that, it’s a good stay overall — comfortable, convenient, and great value for the location.
The only downside was that the windows didn’t seem well insulated, so we could hear people and traffic outside at night. Also, there’s no lift, so it might be difficult for elderly guests or those with mobility issues.

Good location, small but decent room.
Not enough space to have breakfast when we'd have liked it, couldn't book later as ferry timings too tight. Having said that, the friendly helpful staff directed us to an early place (thanks!)
