Really comfortable atmosphere, lovely staff and good food. Perfect for a lone traveler

The staff were really good. The room and bed were comfortable. The food was lovely. Large, really tasty breakfast.

Like most hotels, you can hear other guests at night. Just take ear plugs and it’s fine.

BEAUTIFUL FAMILY RUN RESTAURANT, PERFECT FOR A MEAL AND RELAXING STAY

Stopped two nights early December with our Labrador. Room was spacious with a double bed and a single which was designed for a child I would say. I, personally, wasn't comfortable in the double bed so slept on the single which was fine. Breakfast was severed in the main restaurant with a good selection of fresh fruit juice, cereals, fresh fruit and yogurts. Coffee and tea were also self serve and waitress/waiter came to take your cooked order. The dog was welcome in the restaurant both our evening meal and breakfast. First evening we had the 3 course meal which is available as a special before 6pm, starter main and dessert. We had home made minestrone soup, beautiful, 12" pizza each (large variety of toppings to choose from) and ice cream dessert. The pizzas were so large both of us could only manage half but delicious so the staff put the remains into a pizza box for us to take back to our room for later which was a thoughtful touch. xx The grounds are filled with ornate fish ponds and fountains surrounded by foliage. Staff were extremely friendly and nothing was too much trouble. WELL DONE TO ALL OF YOU GUYS AND GALS XX

Loved having access to Netflix, bedroom was lovely, inviting and warm. Staff friendly and efficient and meal in the evening was excellent.

Small improvement to breakfast would be to have access to alternative milks although to be fair I didn't ask!

Great all round accommodation

Bathroom was clean, bright and spacious. Bed was comfortable and room was far enough away from restaurant to be nice and quiet meaning we slept well

Towels were a little thin but this is just a personal preference - others may not want thick and fully 😄

Our favourite place to stay when working in the North East!

You are guaranteed a warm welcome at Michelangelo's. Very friendly, family oriented establishment. The food menu is vast; you could stay here a month and not order the same dish twice. Portion sizes are very generous and the price is not only reasonable; I wonder how they can afford to keep their prices so low.

I wouldn't change a thing. We especially like how pet-friendly they are. Casper always puts on weight with the amount of sausages he gets, not just at breakfast, but whenever he seems to poke his nose through the door! :)

Fabulous stay at a well run family friendly hotel/restsurant restaurant

Everything, room was clean and well equipped. Price of room was really reasonable and included breakfast. Staff were friendly and helpful. Food was delicious and the team accommodated me having food brought to the room as I had my 7 month grandson staying with me. The early bird 3 course menu is so worth it. I will definitely be back and would recommend to anyone.

Wonderful quiet stay in this excellent hotel

This extremely welcoming hotel where every staff member went out of their way to help. From the reception to restaurant service and the handyman we couldn't have asked for more. The lovely clean, sweet smelling well presented room was so comfortable

Perfect. Already planning our next stay!!

Rooms were spotless, very warm friendly staff and food was delicious. The hotel is in a quiet location with beautiful gardens and terraces. It’s just a short drive into Newcastle & the Metro centre.

Maybe a hair dryer in the rooms but already knew there wasn’t one from reading previous reviews, took my own so wasn’t a major issue.

Great hotel definitely worth a visit

The staff were warm & welcoming. Food was amazing and excellent in price. £11.00 early bird menu before 6pm. It was delicious and worth every penny. Rooms were clean, comfy and a good size. Plenty of parking too.

Really pleasant staff and surroundings.

Friendly staff and very dog friendly. Clean comfortable rooms with free tea making facilities. Close to good transport links but very quiet. Public transport outside the hotel if you choose to leave your car. Close to Riverside Park and opposite a green area so great for walking.

The top of the rainfall shower wasn’t connected in my room but the smaller shower head was. It wasn’t a problem as I was only there for 1 night.

Fabulous value for money for small quiet hotel

Everything. Clean, spacious rooms. Fabulous breakfast included. Staff are incredible. They even remembered I’d been before. Great restaurant for an evening meal, the pizza is a delight.

There were some fireworks around but that’s not really their fault, but it made it a bit stressful for my dog. But it is November. The room was very warm on entry but after I opened a window and put the heater off it cooled off but probably not fully until the second night. But temperature has been a bit variable recently.

Excellent family run hotel and restaurant

Stayed here a few times and will again. Such a friendly, family run hotel and restaurant. All staff are are so friendly and nothing's too much trouble. The restaurant has a good selection of italian/Mediterranean food, all made fresh to order. A full breakfast menu is also available.

Brilliant time had

Stayed over yo attend family party.. the venue was fabulous quirky and cosy. Buffet food was fabulous and breakfast excellent. room was Comfortable spacious and clean. Comfortable bed and tea and coffee and bottled water provided in the room. excellent value for money

A hidden gem! Warm, friendly, helpful staff with comfortable rooms & exceptional food!!!

Staff were so friendly and couldn’t do enough to ensure we had everything we needed (extra lamp & hair dryer etc). We ate in the restaurant which served authentic Italian cuisine which was amongst the best we’ve ever had! Great menu, portions were fabulous & tasted amazing! Again the staff were wonderful. The breakfast was fabulous. Again a great range, something for everyone & the traditional cooked breakfast was excellent especially the beautifully cooked poached eggs!!!! The room was clean & both the bedroom & bathroom was large & spacious. The bed itself was beautifully made up & very comfortable & we were able to adjust the temperature in the room so we were nice & warm. I personally like the fact the rooms are all at ground level as I have mobility issues & they’re slightly away from the restaurant & so we’re nice & quiet. There’s also plenty of car parking and electric charging station for cars if you need it.

The only slightly downside is it’s slightly tired. It could do with a lick of paint but I’m being really picky and it wouldn’t stop me recommending a stay here!

Super hotel for families, great restaurant and lovely staff!

The property was comfortable with spacious bedrooms. Excellent onsite restaurant for both evening meal and breakfast which was fantastic. Staff were great and very welcoming too. Bedrooms were clean with super comfy beds. Lovely gardens to explore with my youngest.

The bathrooms look a little tired and need some updating.

All food was delicious, both breakfast and lunch. Way better than expected. Beds were very comfortable. We really appreciated that. Staff were extremely helpful and welcoming. We even had a brilliant magician to entertain us at Sunday lunch. How good is that!
