Quick stay before holiday

Gary on reception was the best customer service I've came across in 30 plus years, was so nice and refreshing to have someone with people skills kn the front desk.

Quiet, satisfying, and comfortable. You won’t be disappointed.

The staff were very friendly. We travelled down from Scotland for my son’s 18th, we were visiting family. One night my son left his phone on the sofa in the lobby and the receptionist had paid enough attention to us to know that the phone belonged to my son, and the following night when he saw us enter the hotel he called to us. I can’t praise the staff enough. The hotel was quiet. Perfect for us with a small toddler for sleeping. Small play area downstairs and a pool table so while we were waiting to go out all three kids had something to do (from 3 to 18 years old).

The only problem I had was that I didn’t do enough research and it was a little off track for central Newcastle and surrounding areas where family were so each trip was 20/25 mins, but that wasn’t a hotel problem, it was a me problem for not checking.

The cleanliness was spotless! The comfort and size of the room, the airconditioning, the separate toilet and shower room, the size of the TV, the mattress and pillow quality, the modern lightning in the room, the design, the floor staff, the communal areas, it was all excellent!!!!

The only thing that would have improved our stay, would be a better breakfast experience. The food was quite low quality, old and crusty, coffee and beverages were not offered and the cooking of hot food was subpar. It was underwhelming, although not bad enough to spoil and overall very pleasant stay.

I guess its good location for the airport but nothing else nearby if you want food or drink (other than a very poor Toby carvery nearly) It was noisy from other guests at night so we struggled to sleep but not a fault with the hotel

Lifts were a little clunky and one only appeared to be working. Front doors slow to open when you approach them. Had to wave etc and walk away from them and back again before they opened.

Friendly staff

Staff were very friendly

A bit too overpriced I think for what I experienced. A bit rough around the edges for a 4 star. Very noisy from other guests. People running and shouting in the hallways and banging on the room door for no reason. I'm convinced the room above me was being used as a bowling alley all through the night... Beds were uncomfortable with the smallest pillows I've ever seen. Just one each. Aircon didn't function properly. It was set to its lowest at 19.5 and it would randomly self adjust to 22-23 degrees which is too warm for me. Had to unplug the phone in the room as it kept making noises periodically which was annoying or would wake me up. Shower drain was backed up so water leaked and pretty much flooded the bathroom to the point where it came out of the bathroom and soaked the carpet. I put in a special request for a quiet location before I arrived and this was not considered. Also upon booking it said there was secure parking but had to pay £6 per day once you arrived, unless you sign up to some marketing email stuff. I didn't see the point in complaining as the last time I had a bad stay at a different location, the hotel or booking.com didn't give a toss...

Great location with easy access to all parts of the city. Great breakfast. Rooms are quiet, good size and very clean with a comfortable bed and pillows. Would highly recommend.

Excellent Stay

Everything about the room is excellent. Love the shower. Room was spacious and the room temperature was just right especially during this winter period when rooms can get overheated. This was perfect. My husband is a cyclists and has an expensive cycle so we were allowed to bring the bike to our room. Staff were friendly and helpful. I asked for extra tea and coffee condiments and with a smile, they provided us. The location was also perfect as it is only 3 mins from my daughter's place. So thank you for making this stay pleasant. Will come again.

Decent hotel with not enough staff which means no good if you have a concert or restaurant booked!!

Very clearly short staffed on the reception with just 1 host and 20 people trying to check in all at once Also buffet breakfast just doesn't work and if it can't be plated, then at very least a microwave in dining area would have been good as no one likes a cold/barely Luke warm English fry up

The hotel was generally quiet but surprisingly I could hear the hair dryer in the next room just as I was trying to get to sleep. I’m not sure if it would be more noisy if the hotel was busier with guests.

perfect stay for work, close to everything we needed. Clean and bright rooms with pleasant staff

my room was lovely and clean. I was able to open my window which I enjoy in the evening.

I was not keen on the separate toilet area. It was also really small and difficult to get into and then close the door.
