Good stay on Koh Tao

Location is expetionally good, close to all main stuff on Sairee Beach! walking distance.. Without being to close to revelers and night life to be disturbed. Really large rooms! Had >3m ceiling height, also loved that we could have the AC always on, even if you do not need 22degrees C when you are not there, in this climate it is great to have it on 28 degrees to ensure that all your stuff do not get moist...

Aah, the breakfast.. not really worth it, it's ok but not on par with standard of the facilities. But it is really not what should be a dealbreaker it is a nice place to stay!

This resort is extremely dirty and run down, the price they are charging doesn’t reflect at all in the facilities, staff

The location was great

The staff were extremely rude and unhelpful at the desk. The pool was disgusting and damaged. The room smelt like damp and was decaying. The buffet breakfast was awful, they wouldn’t even let us buy peanut butter toast for my child and expected us to feed her what looked like last nights dinner left overs. Stay away from this resort especially if you have children.

Just to sleep it’s ok the rest is not it

They had all amenities needed and the free breakfast is delicious with variety

My most frustrating thing is when I booked it says garden view. What it doesn’t say is they have properties going all the way back across the main road further than the ocean. On top of that I got put at the very last cabin in the forest so it would take me 8 minutes to walk down to the beach because I don’t have a scooter. I don’t mind that but there were other garden views closer to the beach same thing so they just didn’t advertise it properly. On top of that my shower water pressure was terrible and I’m a girl with thin hair, if I turned the pressure up there’s no hot water. I had hot water for only 5 minutes the total 2 nights I was there thankfully I could go to my friends resort to use hers. I would’ve asked to get it fixed but I would’ve had to walk all the way down to the reception where the beach is and couldn’t be bothered since it was late. I had also quite a bit of mosquitos in the room when I first arrived and got a fair few bites.

Awful. Avoid this like the plague!

The outside area/pool and in a good location.

Dreadful room. Not like the photos at all. No hairdryer. Tiny bathroom for 6 people. Everything gets soaked if you shower. No lockers/storage. Nowhere to hang towels. Linen and towels is old and mismatched.

Male receptionist in the evening during check in was very kind and friendly.

No private rooms available anymore, only bunkbed in dorm left. So it was +30€ for a single bunk bed in a 8-people bed room, without breakfast. Too expensive for what it’s worth. Female receptionist in the morning was in a bad mood Equipments not comfortable. I didn’t even go in the pool, it was almost dark green, like it hasn’t been cleaned for a long time. All the other guests just sunbathed. Very unfortunate cause the hotel looks nice from the outside. The name resort is overrated here.

Beautiful resort, kind staff. very noisy

Beautiful resort. Very welcoming staff. Rooms immaculate and cleaned every day. The house keepers did an excellent job. Good aircon. Located a minute from the beach. resort has a restruant on the beach that we used daily and prices are fair. Ferry shuttle provided and we booked snorkelling trip direct with the hotel.

The resort would be amazing if it could be picked up and moved away from the chaos. I was aware that sairee beach area could be noisy but as a family with young children our room was located closest to the lotus pool ( another resort) No i'm no Karen but most nights until 4-5am the music was so loud it vibrated the windows. Tourists leaving the pool parties and pub crawls seem to had very little care for anyone else choosing to want sleep before 4-5am. This is of course no fault of the Seashell resort but the noise level should have been mentioned in the listing. It is a shame because the resort itself is perfect other than noise from neighbouring bars/pools

the beach and the friendliness of the staff were appreciated.

If you want to rest, think again: you can hear the beach disco until 2 a.m., then drunk people take over until 4 a.m. Finally, motorbikes will be coming and going noisily from 6 a.m. onwards. And if you want to rest during the day to recover from a sleepless night, forget it, you'll have to put up with noisy construction work from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. (unbelievable in high season!). There are few or no Thai people, only foreign workers (from Myanmar) who are probably exploited and who are not to blame. The manager was borderline unpleasant. Move on if you want to relax under the coconut trees.

It looks nicer in pics. We expected better.

When you go to the hotel you expect it to be nicer. The room wasn’t very nice - it felt old. There was a stink bug on our porch. The bungalo is in a loud place of Koh Tao- we heard the pub crawl very very clearly. The night we stayed here made us leave the island.

Good location. Right in walking street and near beach. The breakfast was fine. Same every day. The family room was a good size for 4 people. You are really paying for the location with this hotel. Pick up service was good and on time. If diving it was nice that they did arrange a takeaway breakfast.

The fan bungalow rooms were very poor. No hot water or fridge. Cheap but not worth it. There was quite a bit of "stuff" lying around the ground which detracts from the feel. Old batteries, building waste etc. On site dive shop was about the most expensive i saw.

Nice location on Sairee beach

I’m sure back in the day this was a realy lovely hotel, but it is now only 1 step up from a hostel. Very loud and noisey, rooms are not sound proof at all huge gaps in the doors. The sound from the street and bars is ok as they stop around 11-midnight , which is expected.

Nice resort with lovely family bungalows

Our family room was a great open space with balconies. The resort had a great pool and 3m dive pool. It was on the beach and walking distance to shops and restaurants. You could hire scooters from the hotel and we took a dive experience with the onsite dive school which was fantastic.

The resort is located quite close to pubs and they play their music quite loud in the evenings till late.

Very close to the beach and shops. Breakfast was pretty good, with options. Room was big, great Asian style decor with private balcony and comfortable furniture. Very good air con and wifi worked well. Nice big modern bathroom.

The restaurant and room was pretty expensive for Thailand, however we stayed in a deluxe ac. twin room. We had a few noisy people around us, but that's not the hotels fault. A little too close to the nightclub and guests can park their noisy scooters below the balconies which can wake you up,

The location is clearly the best selling point of this resort.

The resort is past its glory times. It’s run down and although a lot of staff hangs around they don’t care about making look the property tidied up. It’s messy and run down, really a shame! Flooring around the pool is broken, buckets of paint are lying around, garden looks messy…

Good place to stay near all local facilities

stayed there for the last 15 years it went down hill during covid but they coped well (understandingly} bit better 2021 2022 2023 but they are getting their act together could do with a few more cleaning staff and should I hope be back on track 2014

Did not use room cleaning but Had to empty own rubbish bins and finished up with enough toilet rolls to satisfy an elephant and enough bottles of water to fill the pool.bit of overkill I would suggest a management problem with the cleaners not using there common.

It’s in a decent location on Sairee Beach, away from noise. Facilities were clean. Free shuttle to the pier was good.

It isn’t on the water, and there are other resorts you can get on the beach that are half the price (when you book in advance). Some staff on the front desk are quite rude.

Superb

Big clean pool, lots of lounge chairs, large room, ferry boat pickup, helpful front desk ladies. We enjoyed our three nights. Beach, shops and restaurants right out front. Try the Vegetabowl for the best meals and fruit shakes around, we had lunch there every day! Also, book a Thai cooking class with "Thai Cooking with Joy", it was awesome!

Overall ok place

The place was fine but a little tired. Had all we needed and is right on the beach and really close to town but probably won't go again. The price reflects this as was reasonable. Nothing wrong with the place overall but just a bit tired.

Staff were a bit grumpy? Maybe a language thing but I didn't ask too many silly questions but still felt like it was a struggle to get things done - not that I needed much. Not a major thing but the room was dark. Could do with more lights.

Relaxing, great view and great location on Sairee Beach

We booked the private pool beachfront room for 2 adults and 2 children. It's right on the beach near Lotus bar so great location if you want to be near everything, but it's very noisy at night which was fine for us but not great if you have babies who might be disturbed by that. Although it's a private pool, it's right on the beach so you are very much on show and also there is a massage place right next door. Staff were lovely. We didn't have breakfast but the cocktails and food was nice in the evening.

It's a little grubby, for example the shower tiles could do with being redone and the drains smelt. You're paying quite a lot extra for the private pool when actually the main pool was really nice and quiet and my kids preferred that one.
