Simple LIfe Resort Koh Tao

I largely liked this new build with a few caveats... For the entire stay, there was a noticeable smell of drainage in the bathroom. Whatever it is, it's a problem just going to get worse over time. On days it rained heavily, there was a slight smell of damp in the room. I only noticed this a couple of times. The aircon one night decided to leak. It was like having a shower in the bedroom. Even the maintenance man laughed at the amount of water. Other than the bathroom smell - it was a great room. As a diver, I go bed early and get up early... There were a few nights with people shouting in the hallways, having a small party in next door room or being overly noisy on their balcony. It was frustrating being woken up a few times on a few different nights. Lastly, the construction going on during the day means you're not going to get an afternoon nap in if you want. It was also not lovely hearing this by the pool. If hotel is busy, don't expect to get a spot on one of the 12 sun loungers around the pool. Cleaning of room was done at very random times. It's not great waiting until 4pm for a towel change etc when you can see cleaning staff just sat down in other rooms doing nothing. Ask them though - and they were very helpful.

Very convenient. Surrounded by restaurants and few mins walk to the beach.

The hotel is very nice, with a great atmosphere and good service. The restaurant also looks good, although I didn’t get a chance to try the food—just experienced the ambiance. It would be even better once the hotel has completed all renovations. During my stay, there was ongoing construction and building extensions, which caused quite a lot of noise and wasn’t ideal for relaxation. I’d recommend checking in advance whether the renovations are fully completed before booking. Overall, it’s still a hotel I would definitely return to when visiting Koh Tao.
