Absolutely amazing

The room was big and spacious. Staff were very helpful and very good, except the ones that were working during breakfast time.. they didn’t smile almost never 😆 But other than that everything was perfect! The guys by the beach bar were also super nice, we even got to choose the tunes one time! Thank you!! Would definitely come back and definitely recommend! Did our first ever scuba dive with deep dive centre and that was also a very good experience! Very professional instructor, Neng, who made me feel very safe and comfortable under the water! Absolutely must do if you are planning on staying there!

Lovely hotel. I would recommend to anyone going to Koh Tao

Lovely, spacious room in a great location. The pool was great with plenty of sun loungers and right on the beach. Nice reception area with plenty of relaxing chairs. I especially liked the restaurant, as there was a great selection of food, an amazing singer / guitarist who played in the evenings and a beautiful view over the bay.

The Wifi was patchy in the rooms, but always available in the lounge area.

Location is very central & in walking distance to many restaurants, shops and the pier. View at breakfast buffet is breathtaking.

The hotel needs renovation. Bathrooms are run down and AC was so loud and sounded like it needs maintenance. Location is central but also very crowded, just to keep in mind that this is a super busy area.

The photos looked great, but the reality was terrible. Our room smelled of humidity, the sheets felt damp, and everything was dusty. The next morning, we found two cockroaches — one in the sink and another in the room. When we asked to change rooms, the receptionist acted surprised, but after checking other reviews, it was clear these issues are common. The hotel is old, poorly maintained, and far from clean. We left early and requested a refund for the two nights we didn’t stay, but the staff became rude and refused. Overall, extremely disappointing experience. Definitely not worth the price or the 4-star rating.

Great location 5 minute walk from the Pier. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Spending top dollar to have 2 days of no hot water and horrible water pressure. Wish I stayed somewhere else and saved hundreds.

Perfect hotel and quite short distance to the centre

Our stay here was unreal! The staff were all so friendly and helpful. Thuya, who worked by the pool, always greeted us with a smile or a wave and tried to chat with us every day despite not speaking perfect English. His kindness and effort honestly made such a difference to our stay. Su at reception was lovely too and even helped us get back into our room at midnight when we got locked out. She was so understanding and made everything so easy. The free shuttle to and from the pier made everything super easy, and the rooms, breakfast, and service were all amazing. We loved it so much we actually came back to stay again before leaving Thailand, couldn’t recommend this place more!

Not what I expected given the cost and room type

Staff were incredibly friendly. Location to pier was great. Quiet location - plenty of available loungers by the pools.

- Swimming pool. One was always in use by scuba drivers so wasn't available and the other stank of mould and was very dirty. - breakfast - very limited choice. - Room - my bed was basically two mattresses on the floor which seemed odd for a beach front villa.

it was good, but it was not the best i ever had.

I like the pool bar, although the drinks were just OK. majority of the staff were very friendly and always smiled .

I felt like a lot of the chairs and towels were older and some of the towels had bleach stains on them, you also had a one towel policy with a key card, which made it really annoying too return and get your towels, which should be a really basic thing that guests shouldn’t have to worry about.

Amazing place located on what is now one of my favourite locations in Thailand.

This was our first visit to Koh Tao and the location of the Montra Resort was perfect. It was right on the beach and close to the main area where a lot of shops and restaurants are, so it was easy to walk to most places when needed. The pool is great and with lots of loungers, it was the perfect place to relax for the day. The rooms very big and spacious and lots of cupboard space and a huge comfortable bed. The staff were amazing and the resort offers free transfers from and to the main pier where the ferry's are. The day we left they even sent extra staff to help carry our bags to the check in at the pier, amazing service. The resort has a resident diving school that can arrange all your diving needs, we used their services for a full day snorkeling trip around the island. This was in a "long tail" boat that was dedicated to us for the day and they took us to all the best sites to snorkel at, it was the highlight of our holiday.

I don't think there was anything we didn't like at this resort, the only small comment I can make is on the coffee at breakfast, although it was good brewed coffee, there weren't options for something like a cappuccino or latte at breakfast, nothing serious.

Great location. It is a 5 min walk from main pier, which has lots of restaurants around it, 7/11 also very close! 20 minute walk to the main strip but a nice walk along the beach and lots to see as you walk along it (restaurants, bars, shops). Pool is great and the pool bar guy extremely friendly and helpful, gardens are all beautifully kept.

Some parts of the hotel looked quite tired but I think this may just be the general interior or the hotel

Wifi was bad only really worked by the pool, and the deep part of the pool didn’t look that clean, they cleaned it twice a day but the water was just really murky maybe needs a new filter

Upgraded our rooms for free. Very clean and staff were very friendly. Great location, close to everything. The man at the service desk was lovely. Looked after our bags after check out and dropped us to the marina to catch the ferry for free. Would definitely go back
