Fun and relaxing stay

What a fun and enjoyable place to stay. The rooms are very comfortable and the views are lovely. The staff were very helpful and the breakfast was very good. We enjoyed the location and the walk to and from and the stairs was not problem for us - but I can see it would be for some less mobile people with more luggage.

Very restful. Would highly recommend. Estelle is the perfect host and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome.

The location was amazing, beautiful sea view from the terrace. Perfect location, a sanctuary away from busy Marseille town but close enough to travel into all the restaurants etc.

It was not too much of a problem for us but the property is reached by quite a few stairs.

The ridiculous climb to get to the property makes it totally unsuitable for older people.. Even taxis would not take us to the door There was no air conditioning. So sleeping was difficult.

Greatful!

Late March proved to be an excellent time to discover Marseille! La Luna was a charming property, complete with a rejuvenating hot tub, fabulous views, and a welcoming hostess in Estelle! We received outstanding advice on the top attractions and experiences. Her English was very good, and we were grateful for her assistance with French. We stayed active by walking the steps to and from the property, a useful fact to bear in mind, even if it wasn't a surprise. Exploring and hiking the nearby Calanques and the La Grotte restaurante at the base of the trail was one of our favorites. I could go on but the best advice I can give is, just go!

The worst hotel of our trip

Nothing.

Ah where to begin..without a doubt the worst place of of our 2 week tour. Style over comfort personified. Firstly the new fans (to replace air con) are useless. Our room temperature overnight reached 32 (see pic). You can't open the windows (double glazed to keep noise out but also keeps heat in) because of the mosquitos. There are oddly no nets. When we asked about this, we were told a/nets disturb airflow (nonsensical because so does a window) b/mosquitos were bad at this time (yes, that's why, like everywhere else we stayed, you need nets). She also asked if we kept the shutters closed in the day (we did). The shower is hilarious. It's a hand held thing that only stays up on the holder when it's on by virtue of water pressure. When you turn off the water it immediately falls off and, if you're not careful, bangs you on the head. The room ceiling has been lowered to squeeze in another room above which doesn't help the circulation..the toilet/ shower has no extractor. The outdoor area is very pretty but there is the constant presence (when we were there) of a pool robot and a lot of cables. If you have any hopes of swimming laps etc, forget them here. Finally and for us, worst of all, walking access is up a very steep hill with countless steps. I broke my ankle a few months ago and found it a huge challenge, so much so we ordered in rather than try to get out to a restaurant. This is not for anyone with any mobility issues!! And yet there is absolutely no mention of this on the Booking.com site. Had there been we would have cancelled and rebooked. We left after one night into a 3 night stay. Our first time ever to do that in 30 years of travel together. The only way I could eat on the first night at all was by getting a delivery. If we had stayed I would have had 3 days stuck in the hotel with takeaway food when the main point of our trip was exploring local restaurants. Marseille is beautiful, just don't stay here!

It was amazing.

all of the art work and the building itself was gorgeous. Estelle the lovely lady who greeted us when we arrived was so helpful. she let us know where the locals ate, how to use the bus system and lots of other useful bits of information. she managed to answer all the questions I had about Marseille and the property. I would defiantly visit again. I can confidently say it was one of the best holidays I’ve ever been on. So relaxing and enjoyable I wish I was at La Luna for longer.

Vraie villa d’architecte au charme incroyable. Nichée dans un vallon avec une superbe vue mer.

L’emplacement, la vue sur mer et le vallon, le goût exquis de la décoration et de l’architecture. Un très bon petit déjeuner, un accueil sympathique et plein de bons conseils. Sans doute aussi à retenir le jacuzzi et la piscine .

Rien sauf l’accès en voiture ou il faut suivre les conseils de cet établissement. Ne pas suivre le GPS qui vous fait passer par des " venelles " ou il est quasi impossible de tourner et de manœuvrer.

Accueil formidable, maison d'architecte juste sublime avec une vue imprenable… Coup de cœur pour le jacuzzi creusé dans la roche, bref, allez-y les yeux fermés, enfin non les yeux grands ouverts, car clairement on en prend plein la vue !

Runsaat yhteiset tilat: aamiaishuone, TV-huone, tilava terassi ja lepotuolit uima-altaalla. Paikallisbusseilla hyvä yhteys keskustaan.

Ei sovi liikuntarajoitteisille (paljon portaita). Saapuminen omalla autolla haastavaa: kadut ovat kapeita ja ei pysäköintipaikkoja. Me saimme tosin pysäköidä La Lunan omalle pysäköintipaikalle (kiitos siitä!).

Bei booking nicht mehr buchen, sonst steht man nachts auf der Straße!

Ich kann das Hotel nicht bewerten, als wir ankamen, hieß es, wir haben keine Reservierung für sie vorliegen. (Das Hotel hatten wir im Dezember letzten Jahres gebucht). Angeblich sind sie nicht mehr bei booking vertreten. Da das Hotel ausgebucht war, mussten wir in ein anderes Hotel, das für die Nacht den gleichen Preis hatte, aber ohne Frühstück war.

Fantastischer Aufenthalt in Marseille

Außergewöhnlich…Villa La Luna ist ein Traum. Wer hier nicht Urlaub macht der hat was verpasst. Super nette und freundliche Gastgeberin. Das Haus ist Traumhaft. Über 3 Etagen kann man sich bewegen…ein fantastischer Pool, ein sehr schöner Whirlpool, eine wunderschöne Terrasse mit Blick auf das Mittelmeer. Parkplätze gibt es am Haus und per Bus kommt in die Innenstadt…die Haltestelle ist 5 Minuten zu Fuß entfernt. Das Frühstück fantastisch. Die Zimmer alle mit Meerblick, sehr sauber und modern eingerichtet. Unseren Hunden hat es auch sehr gefallen und wir kommen sehr gerne wieder. Liebe Grüße an Estelle

Wir hatten eine wundervolle Zeit in Marseille. Für die letzten zwei Tage sind wir in der Unterkunft La Luna. Hier hatten wir eine wunderbare Zeit, einen perfekten Abschluss unseres Urlaubes. Estelle ist super nett, sie macht großartiges Frühstück und hat uns sehr warmherzig willkommen geheißen. Die Unterkunft mit Pool und Whirpool ist einfach wunderschön und was uns zuvor gar nicht so klar war, sie ist wirklich nur 3 Minuten zu Fuß von einer Badestelle an den Klippen am Meer entfernt (siehe Foto). Wie grandios! Wir konnten sogar schon früher in unser Zimmer, da wir spontan früher aus unser vorherigen Unterkunft raus mussten, auch das wurde dann von Estelle möglich gemacht. Also wirklich einfach nur super! :)

Es gibt in dem Zimmer einen sehr guten Ventillator an der Decke, der normalerweise ausreichen wird. Man merkt schon, wenn man vom Meer hoch geht, dass es in der Unterkunft kälter ist als unten. Wir haben nur Tage erwischt, an denen es sehr sehr heiß war und wenig Wind war. Dadurch war es etwas warm, aber ein Sprung in den Pool, und alles war wieder gut :)

Wir haben uns bei Estelle sehr wohl gefühlt und können die Unterkunft sehr empfehlen!

Sehr nette Gastgeberin, die viele Tipps parat hat. Aus dem Pool, der ausreichend groß ist, kann man aufs Mittelmeer schauen. Mit dem Bus 83 ist man in Kürze am alten Hafen. Frühstück ist gut und man kann von der Frühstücksterrasse aufs Meer schauen.

Uns hat alles gut gefallen. Autofahren in Marseille ist allerdings zur Feierabendzeit eine Herausforderung. Man ist froh, wenn man die Unterkunft erreicht hat. Bitte vorher bei der Gastgeberin fragen, ob auf dem Nachbarstellplatz etwas frei ist. Sonst sind in der Nähe der Unterkunft nur wenige Parkmöglichkeiten.
