Radisson Blu Hotel Marseille Vieux Port

I was amazed to be offered a room upgrade to an executive room with views over vieux port. The room was huge and the bed amazing. The room was in A1 condition and spotless, the bathroom was very good with an excellent walk-in shower. The is a pool terrace upstairs with a pool bar offering cocktails and other drinks and tapas. The pool itself is good. There's a great restaurant and bar in the hotel with an outside terrace at the front. The staff were very good and location great. You can walk everywhere around vieux port (but watch out for the e-scooters!)

Location and beautiful room with a view.

Our room was not ready when we arrived (after 3pm - following a long trip) and we were asked to periodically check at reception to see if the room was ready. This meant standing in a queue a few times to check. Access to the pool was offered, but this would have meant having to unpack our swimming gear at reception in front of other guests. No curtesy drinks were offered, despite the heat wave. When we eventually got our room, I called reception to ask that a dirty pillow case be replaced. I was informed that this was going to be done immediately. It was not done until the following morning. A delay can occur, it’s how one manages it that makes a difference- the staff did not do a good job.

Everything was perfect.

Beautiful property, a little rough around the edges, scuffs on the wall, slightly damaged furniture. Absolutely passable, overall enjoyed my stay, breakfast was nice. Great location, right in the old port, on the further side but that’s quite nice away from the crowds and noise.

There was someone’s dirty underwear in the bathroom upon checking in. I took them down to reception and they apologised. Overall not an amazing stay but not a horrible stay
