Great breakfast, well worth the money.

Rooms could be cleaner, beds not great. Only one pillow on bed.

Place ok - probably wouldnt stay again unless I had to.

Room clean and in good decorative order. Free car parking - vehicle registration required and entered at reception.

Window lock faulty, contant 12mm gap appeared even after trying to close and lock the window shut. The night air was 2 degrees centigrade and frost on the car windows! Room felt very cold and draughty, very unpleasant to sleep in as not other form of heating available. Air conditioning turned off and requires contact with reception to have it programmed according to the laminated instructions with the room. Car park very dark when not right outside the reception area. Breakfast relatively expensive.

There was mould on the walls and none of the locks would lock on windows and doors the fain bathroom and bedroom were very noisy and the walls very thin and you could hear everything from people going to the toilet and other noises

Reasonable price but standards a lot lower than previously experienced

Having been at the hotel before, I liked the location and value. However, the room given on this stay fell well below the hotels usual standard which I found surprising. Dog friendly.

-staff were not available on the check in desk when arriving and leaving due to them working on the bar. -bed lamp did not work -air conditioning/heater was not working. Plug in radiator left in room instead. -bathroom tiles and window in room were mouldy with black mould visible. -toilet flush button was mouldy on the inside when pressed. -rust was evident on bathroom bins -safe was not working due to no power

The bed was very comfortable and some of the food was outstanding.

The cleanliness is something to be desired and the staff were rude, the food was hit and miss.

Unhygienic, bad value

Once poor room hygiene has been pointed out to the staff they were quick to try and resolve the issue

The room was a twin when I paid for a double, the room had mould on the walls, curtains, and windows. Red stains on the carpet, blotches of paint on the wall where they have painted over previous damage and far more. Mould was mostly cleaned once reported it to the staff but stains remained for the rest of the stay. Do not stay here

Cold, very little storage and apathetic staff.

The hotel was clean and the location was good for my purposes - commuting to Newport.

Parking is £10 per night which I consider to be wholly inappropriate. There is nothing within the immediate vicinity which would give the hotel reason to charge in order to dissuade non-guests from using the enormous car park. The parking charge was not apparent when I booked. The room was very cold when I arrived. The air conditioning unit did not work. I reported the fault but nothing was done to repair it during my stay. There was a small free-standing electric radiator in the room which did not warm the room sufficiently - I wore a jumper in the room except when in bed. There was no heater in the bathroom so I had to leave the door open otherwise the bathroom would have been freezing. There was very little storage space - one open hanging rail and a very small drawer. If you are staying for more than a night or two you will be living out of your suitcase, for which there is no stand.

We are not happy with hospitality, room situation and facility.

Room and bed are not bad.

We were given the first room (025) with unclosed window. It was cold with draught. So we went to the reception and told her. She looked at the log book and she found the fault of the room. She didn't apologise but gave me another key for (103). Unfortunately, bath room was flooded with leaking water from the sink. We had to move again to 230. Then she apologised. We spend about 40 minutes moving our stuff from one room to another. We have to ask the toilet tissue and shower hat. We are not happy with hospitality, room situation and facility.

Very clean, decorated nicely, friendly staff, comfortable beds/rooms, great location for us for where we were going and great to park at the hotel

The only issue we had was; the room at night was so cold and we couldn’t change the temperature, we had to put our winter coats over us. I know it’s hard to get the temperature right for everyone and I probably should have phoned reception but I was tired 🥴

Low cost reasonable hotel short drive from Cardiff centre

Evening meal and breakfast were nice. Comfy bed. Reasonable room rate compared to similar hotels in the area. Plenty of parking Reception were very helpful. Good to have mirror above dressing table & chair

Would have been nice if the room had been heated on arrival, had to go to reception to ask how to switch it on, perhaps have instructions in the room. Bathroom ceiling could do with cleaning, showing signs of mould. Would be nice to have restaurant/bar menu in room.

5G signal from my room was excellent. I didn't use hotel wifi, but there's no need. Room was very quiet, and I slept like a log. Room was clean.

Excellent for a weekend

I really like this hotel it’s not 5 star but the service is good and the beds are comfy. We come to Cardiff quite a bit as my daughter is in university here and the car park is a huge plus. We will come again 👍

Expensive Parking but nice hotel

Convenient location, pressure of the shower was great. Comfy bed, cleaned everyday and staff provided small amenities like toothpaste if forgotten.

Cushions weren't the best, had to stack 2 together and still didn't have much support. £10 per night for parking was a bit of a sting considering it was still just an open air car park.

Nice room…not so nice wake up calls in the middle of the night

Nice and quiet…big rooms too

We had someone come in our room in the middle of the night. Scream and run out…then about 5 minutes later reception rang our room and ask if we were supposed to be in the room…and asks me to confirm my name. This was in the middle of the night..so we had to sleep with the arm chair up again the door.

The room was someway comfortable. Reception well decorated and staff very helpful.

The room had what appeared like a blood stain in the carpet. The stain was very big which didnt look good. Room again was quite dusty..Prices of the food was very high also. Ordered a burger which was then served still raw and haven't felt right since. £130 for this experience is very disappointing!

A convenient location but generally disappointing - not as it used to be!

Without exception the staff were helpful and friendly. But for this my comments would have been less favourable. The hotel is well located, virtually alongside the main road with ample parking. There is a reasonably frequent bus service into the City Centre with the bus stop about 3 or 4 minutes walk from the hotel.

The reception area which appeared chaotic and probably understaffed at the time of arrival. The carpeted areas in front of the ground and first floor lifts had a dark and grubby appearance. Ledges were in need of dusting. In the room the lighting system was confused and inadequate. There was a complete lack of information on services both in the room and more generally. The safe was open and inoperable and when queried the answer was that "you need a key". The key pad on the door of the safe was out of use. The bathroom was in need of updating. The basin was marked with scratching, some obviously holding black deposits. All of these points were raised with staff at the reception desk. In need of more investment and/or better management.

Frosty receptionist on arrival and rather abrupt when queried car parking charge but other staff more polite and friendly. Needed a taxi and same receptionist just pointed at a code to scan and offered no assistance when we were obviously struggling!
