Mercure Cardiff

Very welcoming staff and the reception / communal lounge looked very modern and clean. I liked how there was access to a little cardio room 24/7 (just need to sign a register before and after use). Room was clean and a nice standard room for 1 or 2 people. Bathroom was also clean.

Another stay where I had to pay an additional charge for parking although I was staying there. However it was nowhere near as expensive as other places in the Cardiff area I’ve stayed in previously (£10 p/n). There was some damage in the bathroom shower where a tile was broken and sharp, shower head looked like it could do with a replacement. There was a big “comfort” chair however does not look like it has been cleaned in sometime, when I hit it with my hand, there was a small cloud of dust. Lastly the room could do with some more lights in there, as I had to put all the lights on round the bed and the bathroom lights to get a decently lit room. Otherwise, was nice and comfortable.

Ample parking. Friendly and professional staff. Really good meal in the evening. Breakfast one of the best we've had in a long time

There was nothing to dislike about this hotel. It was as described and as expected

The reception was lovely. There was great shower pressure. The lobby area at first glance was nicely done up.

Everything was just a bit old and dirty. The chairs in the room had stains on them, had clearly been used for a very very very long time. Rusty bits in the bathroom, paint coming off the tiles. There was minimal lighting in the room. Tv labeled as smart tv but wouldn’t work in such a way. Half the bed was comfortable, half felt as though I was going to sink into the floor. Car park cost £10, which was absolutely fine, but by dinner hour there were people smoking pot in the car park just outside the front door. Given the price compared to city centre accommodation options, I expected much higher standards.
