Highly recommended.

Lisa was the best host you could wish for. She a font of local knowledge and added enormous value to our stay. Her legendary breakfasts lived up to their reputation. Communal spaces were friendly and clean. It looked like it's photos and she filled us in on its history. We had friends staying and living locally and had no hesitation in recommending her to them if they needed extra space. Loved the greeting on the bedroom door and the her perfect greeting when we arrived. She made us feel very special. What she didn't know about the rugby wasn't worth knowing. Blackout blinds are a good idea. Bedroom felt cosy but was plenty big enough.

Needed a bit of TLC in the ensuite which was a bit tired. The hand basin was exactly that. A hand basin but I guess not much room for anything else. If I went again I might take my own pillows.

A little gem.

The warmth of the welcome was unbeatable. Lisa was exactly what we expected having read previous reviews. The room was spacious and comfortable and breakfast was splendid .

It was slightly tricky to get into the car park but that was because our arrival coincided with the arrival of people to the scout hut next door. I'm

Lovely period building , twin room small but adequate. Room was very clean and comfortable. Lisa is very friendly and an excellent host. Plenty of choice for breakfast. Will definitely stay again, probably in the larger double room.

Lovely!

- Lisa was absolutely lovely! Extremely friendly and helpful. - In a great location, 15 min walk from the station and very easy to get into Cardiff. - Bed was comfy - Breakfast was freshly prepared and hot in the morning. - Smart TV in the room - The room I had had a massive bathroom and shower which was nice

- Room was super cute albeit a bit small. My partner couldn’t come so I attended on my own but I couldn’t imagine both of us trying to manoeuvre around the room. - Although breakfast was hot, the options were a bit limited. There was some cereal/pastries options but I unfortunately noticed that some packets were out of date and hadn’t been removed. I should have said something but I was in a rush and skipped breakfast the next morning!

This place is amazing!

Lisa was a wonderful host, nothing was too much trouble! Her advice and support was invaluable in making our stay as good as it could possibly be. Additionally, the breakfast options were fantastic, with anything hot cooked fresh to order. Alongside this, all of the little touches all around the home showed Lisa's dedication to her guests.

A lovely house with a great welcome from our hosts.

The property has character with a little history. The room we had was clean and cosy, with a lovely en-suite bathroom. There was a comfortable lounge for guests with a roaring wood fire. Llion and Lisa were great, very helpful and knowledgeable, recommended places to visit and to eat. The breakfast was served efficiently and was just what we needed to start the day.

Incredible stay with an amazing host

Lovely house with a large and spacious bedroom and a lovely sitting room where you can play board games and relax, got breakfast included with loads of different options. And Lisa was absolutely amazing so polite and made you feel right at home straight away, she even told us about how to get to the city easier by train which I hadn’t thought about. Can’t wait to come and stay here again

Friendly and helpful host. Convenient situation for access to Cardiff and other areas. Train was a bonus. Lovely spacious room. Great local italian restaurant. We will consider returning to explore more of the area.

Lisa was wonderful. A nicely kept, clean and well-appointed property. A delicious breakfast.

The only real negative is our bathroom was a bit small and awkward. Though fine for us, I could see the steps being difficult for some.

Perfect for walkers & cyclists

Great host, fabulous breakfasts. An interesting and atmospheric B&B conveniently located on a safe 20mph road near the Taff Trail. Walk north to Tongwynlais (cafe & pub) and then on to Castle Coch (cafe closed 2025) Cycle on the Taff Trail to Bute Park, Cardiff Castle, Cardiff Bay Wetlands and Cardiff Bay Barrage. 1km walk to Radyr Station for (15 min) train ride to Cardiff Bay & Mermaid Quay and boat trips, Millennium Centre, Pierhead Building etc By train from Cardiff to Barry Island (30min) with its clean, safe, sandy beaches. Off road car parking at front, outdoor cycle storage at rear. Recommended.

A wonderful experience in all respects.

Lisa is an incredible host and we were looked after extremely well from check in to check out. There were personal touches all through our stay with Lisa driving us to the railway station on departure. Lisa was very accommodating and served a sumptuous breakfast.

The only thing missing during the couple of days of intense heat was air-conditioning. However, even in that regard, Lisa helped out with a nice pedestal fan.

Perfection

Rooms were immaculate, the beds were super comfortable, facilities were great, and Lisa was amazingly helpful and friendly from the minute we arrived. Perfect location for visiting Cardiff city centre, with trains running every ten minutes from the nearby train station. I would highly recommend staying here. Everything about our stay was perfect. Superb

Lisa was a wonderful host and nothing was too much trouble for her. She provided excellent local information which greatly enhanced our stay. The room was very comfortable and spacious with a number of extras that you would not always expect eg robes. Very impressive breakfast selection! We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay and the Lodge is incredible value for money. We will definitely return in the future.

The property was so sweet! Lovely decor, comfy bed, such a nice bath, and amazing breakfast! Was in a great location super close to the castles. Lisa is such a sweetheart and was so kind and thoughtful! The history of the house was so magical and made our stay even more memorable. I will definitely be back and I would suggest this cozy place to anyone!
