Wonderful Welsh hospitality. Def recommend.

Breakfast was simply wonderful, beautifully cooked. The manager that morning was so lovely and kind. Made a great impact. Asset to your business. The lady who cleaned the rooms was super helpful, allowing me to keep the bags in the room until i returned from the funeral, she then carried them down for me as I had a bad back. Very kind and thoughtful.

Great accommodation, we'll be back

Convenience and also the ambiance, compared to where we have often stayed just off the M4. This is a homely place and a great little village, with added bonus of the stunning cathedral. Good tea & coffee making equipment.

We were puzzled by the lighting arrangement in the room (Norwegian Church). The bedside lighting seemed to be on the same circuit as a very bright light on the A/C unit, so couldn't have a low-lit, cosy atmosphere. It all had to be on in order to see the teakettle etc. which seems to be a bit unsafe. Also witnessed an unfortunate kerfuffle between staff & a resident about bar closing time: maybe the licensing rules could be clearer, as "usually" hotel residents can be served after Time has been called.

The bathroom in my room needed a little freshening up regarding the sealant in the shower but this was a minor detail and did not spoil my enjoyment of the hotel.

A comfortable stay in a LGBT+ friendly and welcoming hotel with kind staff and good food.

We were greeted by the manager Chris who was bright and bubbly and made sure we had everything we needed to be comfortable. He told us the meaning behind our rooms name (Castle Coch), all the rooms are named in welsh, and got us reserved for breakfast in the morning. The room itself was far above our expectations, especially for the price (£86/night). The bathroom was modern and had a large walk in shower and nice travel soaps. There was also fancy tea and coffee on the desk. The TV allowed air play and chrome cast and was decently sized. We ate breakfast at the hotel in the morning and the coffee and food was great. They had multiple vegan options and were very considerate of dietary restrictions and allergies. This hotel and pub are openly LGBT+ friendly (signs on the door, rainbow lanyards and pins on some staff, and the general atmosphere) which made me and my girlfriend feel comfortable from the get go.

We could hear some noise from the bar downstairs (to be expected) but it quieted down around 10:30 and was never too disruptive or too too loud. We couldn’t hear anything from the other hotel rooms.

Nice rooms, good location the meal at dinner was wonderfull, also a special mention for Chris at breakfast the breakfast was very good and Chris was brilliant in looking after us.

The staff serving us on the night no smiles, no interaction with us and no thank you or acknowledgement of a decent tip.

A lovely place to stay in a beautiful area of Cardiff

The accommodation was lovely, the breakfast was delicious, and the staff were really friendly and professional. Although it was not very close to the centre, the local area was beautiful, with a nice walk to the nearby cathedral, so well worth visiting, and a nice bonus we were not expecting. Parking onsite was also easy and free. I would highly recommend this place.

The accommodation is great, and the local area is lovely. The only potential negative (depending on your objectives) is that if you are here to visit the city centre, you'll need transport because it's not really close enough to walk to easily.

I flew to Cardiff from Hong Kong to visit my siblings and relatives living in the Llandaff area. Location of the hotel was very convenient. Room was clean, spacious and cosy, bed was comfortable, duvet was soft and warm, radiators were available for use if needed. Staff were very friendly and helpful. All these had made my stay a very pleasant and comfortable one. I will definitely come back to stay in this hotel in my future visits.

The extractor fan in the bathroom was not working. It would have helped to speed up the drying process of the bathroom after showers.

I absolutely recommend it!

I loved this place! I wish I could have stayed longer, and I hope I can return! The room was delightful - roomy with a tub and a walk in shower. Food was delicious! It was clearly a popular spot. Every one of the staff was friendly, helpful, and efficient. It is obviously run well, because that kind of staff attitude comes from top down!

The rooms at the front suffer from traffic noise, particularly if the windows are open. Continental breakfast was rather minimal, and the coffee machine wasn't working.

Lovely room with air conditioning

We stayed for 2 nights and found the whole stay great. We hadn't realised the room had air conditioning, which made all the difference to a good nights sleep on a heatwave hot August day :) Food was lovely - we had dinner and breakfast. Staff we spoke with were friendly and helpful too.

The only little niggle we had was that the fire door used for access out of hours was often left pulled to but unlocked. As this door was directly outside our room it worried the wife a little that someone could walk into the corridor at night uninvited.
