Nice, affordable stay. Good location, nice friendly staff.

I don't mind this place, it is quite good and comfortable enough for me with quite affordable price. It is located at the centre so there are much things to explore nearby, but also was quite difficult to find as the bar's name below it had changed. But this hostel is right by Taco Bell's door. Lockers in my room were not enough for every bed, but thankfully the room wasn't full, and you need to bring your own padlock or ask the receptionist for it. One thing to consider though, the street where the hostel is located doesn't seem to be the best/safest. The first time I arrived on the street I experienced quite unpleasant experience in public from a lady who seemed to be a junkie, I was newly arrived in Cardiff so I was a bit shocked, and across the streets some people will shout at each other occassionally. But the rest of my two days were okay, I think if you're travelling solo like me you need to practice more caution in this area.

The hostel offers good value in the center of Wales. The building is a bit old, the pillows aren’t very comfortable, and the bathroom is quite small. I booked through Agoda but didn’t receive a confirmation email, so I had to contact the host directly on site.

I’ve stayed at other hostels and if it were not for the kindness of the staff I was lucky to meet I would have given it 1 star . I’ve tried to upload the photos but it kept giving error, but you will be able to find them around anyway. Pros of this hostel: - it is 5mins walk from Principality Stadium - the staff, when you get across one of them, are kind friendly people - it’s the only hostel in the area - the female only room is actually the best area of the hostel as it has its own toilets and showers and a small living room with 2 sofas and a tiny fridge. - It’s a roof over your head. Down sides: - If you have no internet forget about being able to enter the hostel as everytime you need to enter the premises, your room or the toilets you need to open them via an online scanning app. - It is unmanned so no reception, your best bet is the club connected to it. - Beside the common area that gets cleaned everyday, rooms are barely ever cleaned, bedsheets get changed at check out, but in a week floor has never been cleaned. - The bunk beds are old models I believe cause unless your height is less than 1.50cm you are constantly going to hit you head if you try sitting straight. - Most mattresses you can feel the spring coils in your rib, bedsheets can have old stains. - General Female bathrooms: there should be 2 toilets but one is in very poor conditions and partly broken, showers literally last 6 seconds and you need to keep pressing the botton, they are very dirty with evident signs of black mold. - Common area: there is a microwave and an Airfryer but there is no item you can use to cook food in the Airfryer, there are literally 2 normal knives and 4 forks, and 1 teaspoon. So unless you bring your own tinfoil or a container to use forget about using it. - Over one week it happened over 3 times that people who had no booking got in and either sleep on the couch in the common area, or in the disabled bathroom ( a girl in my room had gone there and got scared to find someone sleeping inside).
