Nice and cosy room for our short stay

Great location and delicious food

The location was beautiful, not too far from the Metro station. The room was clean and had everything we needed. The food in the restaurant was absolutely delicious, and so was the breakfast the following morning - Emma came in early for us so that we could eat before my race. Thank you, Emma - I made it just in time and really enjoyed it!

Cozy sisters overnight!

It was cozy and comfortable. Everyone was helpful and kind. Rooms were clean and had everything we needed.

A lovely, friendly, restaurant, pub, hotel which has a great menu and friendly staff

The Gwaelod y Garth Inn was exceptional! As you approach it looks rather ordinary but it's a great place. We stayed overnight and the room was nice. The evening meal was, in a word, fabulous - it's a proper restaurant not just pub grub. Every member of staff was friendly. They have some interesting craft beers and the selection of whiskies is impressive. Can't praise this place enough.

If I'm being picky.... as cyclists, it would have been good to have had a shed or garage to store our bicycles overnight but we double locked them round the back and they were there in the morning safe and sound.

Super stay in a lovely b&b in a beautiful village

Beautiful location. Spotless, spacious room with hospitality items much appreciated. Superb dinner in restaurant. Very welcoming, friendly and efficient staff throughout. Excellent breakfast served by a lovely lady, Emma, each day. Perfect for our short stay and would happily return.

Lovely friendly hotel. Room was lovely clean and fresh. Morning breakfast was fantastic, im fact more than what I expected. Maggie cooked mine to perfection, unfortunately I didnt ask for the black pudding, which she told me was excellent . 10/10

The host was the kindest and most observant, and all his staff were extremely friendly, pleasant and obliging. The rooms were very clean and modern, and were quiet despite being next to the pub and restaurant.

Delightful and Very Accommodating

We loved this off-the-beaten-path pub and small B&B (just three rooms; book early if this appeals), In the heart of an a rural village known for iron and slate mining, this village is adorable and nestled in the outskirts of Cardiff. We found the staff friendly, particularly Adam and the owners took much pride in their establishment. The rooms were well-equipped, quiet, comfortable. Like old world pub style, we chatted with other patrons as though old friends. Would have stayed more nights if our travels allowed. Pub food and breakfast were delicious and artfully presented.

Parking was available but a bit tight. Narrow lanes—beware—but not much you can do about that.

Rooms and breakfast were very good but there were other facility limitations for guests.

Location close to Cardiff, Radyr and M4. Rooms have access independent of bar/restaurant. Rural location. Breakfast was very good and the staff adapted to extra guests very well. Well done to the lady who prepared and served breakfast.

No evening food options on Sunday arrival. This became clear after booking. Loss of hot water on arrival while preparing to go out to find dining option. Parking was readily available to us when we arrived because business was winding down after lunch but my understanding is that there is no dedicated guest parking and parking is limited both on the premises and nearby streets. This could be a factor in booking this location in the future.

The staff were so good - helpful and couldn’t do enough. Room one was super comfortable (excellent mattress), and had everything we needed plus it was immaculate. The full Welsh breakfast was huge!

The room was spacious and clean, the personnel was exceptionally nice, the check in/out procedure really fast. They accommodated all my needs in terms of invoicing. The breakfast was amazing and fresh. For dinner you can dine in their exceptional pub, one of the best that I have been the last 2 years that I am living in the UK. There is a parking but be careful if you on the afternoon it might be full of pub customers on the parking. Park on the road below and move it later. Finally, it is really close to Treforest which is really convenient and it is located near hiking routes

Just far enough outside of Cardiff to be quiet and peaceful. Very nice looking pub. They made us a delicious breakfast on the spot.

I am a fat American and the shower is a small stall. But the water pressure was great.

The quiet location was superb. The cleanliness was excpetional. The staff were very welcoming, especially Maggie doing breakfast. The breakfast was excellent and the black pudding was possibly the best I've ever tasted.

The length of the bed was a little short for me, but then again I am 6ft 4in.

Another enjoyable stay

This is the second time we've stayed here. We were in a different room this time and it was equally as lovely as the previous room. There was a fridge in the room with fresh milk and oat milk in it for the tea and coffee provided. The bed was huge and very comfortable and after the pub has closed it's a very peaceful area. Breakfast was gorgeous, we were there for 3 nights and the eggs were perfect every morning. We had dinner in the restaurant on 2 evenings and it was very tasty. The Inn has a car park, so we were able to park close to our accommodation

There is nothing at all that we disliked. However if you have walking difficulties you'd need to book the room on the ground floor as the rooms are in a beautiful old building and consequently the stairs are quite narrow.

I booked a country pub for a 2 night stay. At no point on the booking.com website did it state that the pub and kitchen would both be closed for the duration of my stay. Having booked, I received an email informing me to this effect but I was unable to cancel. I feel very disappointed that this fact was not made clear on the information provided on the booking.com website for this property.

Perfect for an overnight stay!

Stayed here for the night, following a family wedding. Staff were friendly and the room was clean, a good size and perfect for our needs. Location is beautiful and we were also able to park behind the Inn. Oh and the breakfast was fabulous! All in all, good value and a pleasant stay.

The TV seemed to have a connection issue (kept turning itself off) - however, we were out for the evening, so wasn't really an issue. Reported on departure, so sure it has been resolved.
