Awful staff relations .

Poor staff on check in , room not ready at 300pm kept waiting in the bar for 40 minutes with no info . Girl who originally saw us at check in finished her “ shift “ and left for home? Ordered drinks at the bar & without getting our drinks were told we had to leave in 10 mins for a function . Complained & got our order which was then incorrect !!! Had to go to your nightclub which was packed , all we wanted was a drink with our friends.

The swimming pool was very slimey and slippery. Which was a shame because my girls were there for birthday yreat and waa the one think they were looking forward too

Great hotel and value for money

The reception area is nice, with fires making you feel welcome straight away. Staff were friendly and sorted an issue with my booking (my error). Room was large with a nice view of trees and a brook. The hotel is centrally located and you can be in the main shopping area within a few minutes walk.

All things considered it was a pleasant stay . A little overpriced perhaps.

Breakfast was excellent. Room was spacious and very clean. Bathroom very good.

One of the lifts was out of order so sometimes there was a long wait for the one that was working. Pillows on the bed were of a poor quality. Seemed bulky but no substance to them, rather uncomfortable.

Amazing stay

Beautiful and clean, staff were so friendly. I paid for some rose petals on the bed for our anniversary. We were given 2 brownies and a happy anniversary card too, this was a lovely touch :)

Overnight date night !

Lovely quiet, spotless warm room, comfy bed, and even had a fridge. Great pool/ jacuzzi and stream room which were very relaxing! The hotel is in a fab location, minutes from everything and had a very cosy feel to it. Breakfast was good and we would definately return

The bathroom wasent what I expected it was a wet room not walk in shower!!! So found it very awkward trying to shower and the shower just whizzed every where making everything in site wet of the whole floor.

Not as impressive as last visit

Friendly staff in the bar, great location

The room carpet appeared to have not been fitted properly and was creased in the middle of the floor like someone had pulled the bed out, it appeared a leak had sprung from the toilet/ sink in the bathroom as we noticed pooling water when we had actually used the swimming showers which we reported on check out. The bar staff were friendly but hit and miss only small things like a barman one evening brought our drinks over put coasters on the table and placed the drinks on them the next night the bar lady brought the drinks over and placed them on the table then put the coasters down just on the table I agree only a minor detail but noticeable. The reception staff when dealing with us were polite and courteous but on entering during the evening and day we were rarely greeted with receptionists having their head down seeming unaware that anyone had walked in, I understand if they were delaying with a customer but a few times this was not the case, on our last visit we could barely get through the door without a smile and hello. Lastly which I found concerning, on arrival we were very early and I approached the reception and said we have a reservation can we leave our luggage and we were not even asked our name we were handed tickets and our luggage was just taken unfortunately in the current climate we live in I thought this concerning as we could have literally been leaving anything.

Weve stayed her for years sadly going to go elsewhere.

We always stay here as a couple and it never disappoints. Food stunning rooms comfortable.

Very over crowded in the pool. Never have problems swimming but couldnt even swim. No signal on the tv. Didnt complain as it wasnt worth it at 7pm in the evening so went to sleep. We stayed on a Sunday night which is usually lovely and quiet yet breakfast had quest who were quite rude. I tried to say excuse me to a lady as i couldnt get through to the cereals as she was chatting. She just shouted at me in a different launguage. Made me feel really uncomfortable. Wont stay here again. As its such a same. Very over crowded.

Huge room!

The location was perfect, very near to the shops and castle. Our room was huge! Large comfortable bed. We ate in the restaurant and the staff were so friendly and helpful, the roast dinner was delicious. Would definitely stay here again.

Highly recommend the park plaza

The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The room was spotless.and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was excellent. We only needed to stay for 1 night but I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Cardiff for longer.

Not very nice I felt ripped off

When we arrived and entered the room the heating was not on , it was very cold on bringing this up with reception they offered a bigger suite as compensation , but I would not be allowed to change if the rooms surroundings were too noisy , or they could bring portable radiators for that night and next night change our room to a larger suite . So we took heaters , could not sleep that night room was either too hot or too cold , looking forward to following day room was changed to same size room , so basically we paid for two nights but enjoyed one

Poor soundproofing, rooms are basic and decor very sterile, not what I’d expect for the price. Breakfast area like a basic canteen, no apparent thought given to ambience or design.
