The staff was amazing breakfast was amazing all around amazing there’s not a bad thing that I could possibly say made me and my family feel so welcome so close to the city centre everything was in hand

It was almost impossible to get a drink from the lounge bar on Saturday night. There was a very large event being staged in the ballroom. The noise in the lounge bar was ear splitting, I could barely hear my wife talking to me, sitting next to me! We had intended to eat in the restaurant but with the noise in the adjoining bar area it would have been extremely uncomfortable!Such a disappointment, we did expect more from such a prestigious hotel. It has put us off using this venue in future.

I came for a relaxing weekend. The swimming pool was like a public leisure centre. Full of swimming lessons. The lanes were noisie with children and taken up with lessons and noisie teachers. The lockers in the changing room were awful and the showers very dated. My bedroom shower was very weak and poor. Some mould on the shower head. I scrapped off black mildew or mould with my finger. Website not great at saying parking was to be paid for. Swimming to be paid for not clear and it was busy with lanes and noisie. Bedroom was cold and the bed covers were far too thin and not luxury. We were very very cold in the room. Pillows were huge and not normal. Whole place needs modernising. Very very upset about my whole stay.

Pool changing facilities too small for the gym and pool. No facility to spin rinse swimming shorts or bag to put wet kit in and no towel rail in the Junior Suite on which to hang or dry swimming kit

i thought the rooms were a great size, very comfy bed and staff were great

the only mirror with light was in the bathroom. Struggled to dry my hair as the plug closest to a mirror was a bit too far and had to use phone as mirror. Also i expected a slightly better hair dryer for such a nice hotel. I did also get a few knocks on the door by housekeeping throughout my stay asking if i needed room cleaning etc even though i didn’t put the sign out. My view from my room was also the back of the building by the bins and staff car park which wasn’t ideal as it stated castle view rooms

The extra charge for the swimming pool which was freezing cold and wasn’t working properly, and no fridge in our room for water

Absolutely great experience.. was hesitant initially to book for this hotel, but no regrets in the end.. kids of course enjoyed the swimming pool. All staff are wonderful. Very clean room. The place is very near to most of the places. Even had a complimentary upgrade to castle view room , a welcome card and goodies for our 10th anniversary, that really made our stay memorable..

I already spoke to them and I’m awaiting on a refund. Events going on downstairs when we were there very noisy in our room until late at night. Young children couldn’t sleep and were moaning it was too loud. Quite distressing as there was nothing I could do about it

Brilliantly located within walking distance of central Cardiff. Spacious room, comfy bed, clean bathroom with plenty of room for wash stuff and makeup. Nice bar with comfortable atmosphere. Decent breakfast.

I booked this as a 50h Birthday present for my daughter. In her words " we were treated like Royalty" The staff at the Hilton were fantastic, and my daughter and her husband are still on cloud 9!! Saying thank you doesn't seem like enough.....but THANK YOU from a very grateful Mother XXX

On a positive note, the room was clean, the bed was comfortable, the air conditioning worked well, and the television was a good size. Breakfast was acceptable, though not exceptional; the beans were cold, but the hash browns were very good, and the staff were consistently helpful and supportive throughout.

Thank you again for your hospitality during our recent stay. We were genuinely surprised to be told that we had been selected as the “Guest of the Day”. For clarity, this appeared to consist of an additional can of still water, a can of sparkling water, and two Welsh cakes. We also wanted to check whether we were genuinely selected as the single “Guest of the Day”, or if this is something given to multiple guests each day. The way it was presented suggested it was something special or unique, but the offering itself did not really reflect that. We also wanted to confirm whether this was the full extent of the benefit, or whether we unintentionally missed something such as a room upgrade, complimentary meal, late checkout, or any other added gesture. While we appreciate the sentiment, when paying £400 per night and being informed we were the “Guest of the Day” in a fully booked hotel, we had expected the recognition to carry more weight than a small selection of items worth only a few pounds. As it stood, the gesture felt underwhelming and, if anything, a little misplaced. In addition, the shower in our room fluctuated between hot and cold and could not maintain a stable temperature, which made it very difficult to use. We mentioned this on departure. The toilet seat was also loose and in need of attention.

The online instructions for car parking were very vague, I ended up parking nearly a mile away only to discover there was a car park very close by, big dislike. The breakfast was nice but standard hotel fair. The lifts were erratic, you could go up 2 floors before you went down.

Wanted to eat breakfast in conservatory as was lovely and light but was told couldn’t as we were group of 3 and only did tables for 2.

On booking I was told the pool area was included in our booking. We checked again at reception who confirmed it was included. We went down to the pool to then be told we had to pay extra to use it! As for the pool, what a joke! There's me expecting a nice romantic soak in the pool, jacuzzi etc to find out when we got there they are open to the public and we're having swimming lessons in the pool! This meant random members of the public sitting amd standing poolside constantly watching. Made us feel very uncomfortable. We spent a maximum of 15 to 20 minutes in there. Such a let down No water in our room to then be told later only some rooms are supplied water and if we wanted some we would again need to pay extra bare in mind I'd already paid extra for a castle view room. Previous guest or cleaner used the toilet in our room and left a brown gift for us to find They dont have their own car park even though its says online they do. Instead you have to use the NCP which is not a safe car park at night. Also cost us an extra £30 to park which included the hotels so called discount. Be wary in lifts. The doors dont have sensors and close very quickly and during pur stay closed jamming multpile guests between them including me. Considering the Hilton chain is supposed to be a more higher class hotel, the whole experiance was not good and clearly this hotel is more about money than guest satisfaction. There's another hotel a 1 minute walk away which is much nicer and has a much better feel to it for couples than the hiton. I do not recommend this hotel

We stayed here over the last 23 years numerous times and have seen the ups and downs but now this hotel is back at its best. Staff, rooms, facilities and the food are great

Stayed here a few years ago, felt the hotel was not as good this time. Arrived at our room there was a strong smell of the toilet, black dye stains on the towel. And the car parking was a complete rip off

Great location, central to everything

Central Hotel with excellent facilities and clean rooms. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The pool was a good size and the gym well equipped.

It's difficult to find fault but I guess some of the public areas are a little tired and could be spruced up.

Only 1 staff member was friendly and helpful and ran out of several items and when we asked for more we were told that there was none felt as though we were being hurried away

Bar staff were rude as we asked for a glass of Merlot and was told no Shiraz is same But it isn’t
