Angel not what was expected

It’s so close to the centre of Cardiff and right by Cardiff Castle

We have been going here for 15 or so years twice a year, this time the both lifts were out of order and were not notified before hand being on the 3rd floor and ages 75 & 65 not good at all, came away feeling rather ill and exhausted left a letter for the manager but no response at all, so look for someone else next time I want to visit Cardiff

Lifts out of order and my brother of 77 years has disability so was a bit of an ordeal for him,breakfast was over cooked and dry ,cold drafty rooms very dated.

Pleasant but we were very cold in the bedroom.

Good location, friendly staff, comfortable bed, water warm in bathroom. Bonus hearing some welsh singers on arrival. Able to leave cases in reception.

Our bedroom was very very cold. We thought breakfast starting at 8am was a little late as we wanted to get on our way to train station as it appeared that other people did too. It was unfortunate that the lunch and evening menu was so limited due to the Rugby.

Comfy clean large room in centre of town. Great breakfast!

Spacious comfy clean room, hot high pressure shower. Tasty full English breakfast and croissants, cereal, yoghurt and toast available too. Hairdryer and nice selection of toiletries.

Room was very warm. Hotel communal areas are looking a bit tired now but a lovely old building and I would definately stay again 😊

Car park closed lift not working. Bed made us roll into the middle all night 1 radiator in room not working so room wasn’t very warm Ed Room supposed to be a suite but just a bigger room with a sofa that had seen better days and was uncomfortable

I Am A Returning Guest, The Angel Always Exceeds Expectations. It Has Never Failed Me Yet. Lovely Decor And A Very Hospitable Stay. Thank You, I Love This Hotel.

Very run down interior and outside. No charging points in your room. Very noisy people during the night talking walking around late at night early morning. No drinking water in room. Dirty carpets, windows, room in general dusty and very run down.

Gorgeous chandeliers and timeless charm made for a very enjoyable stay

The room was very spacious, well-equipped with all the amenities I needed, and the location was absolutely fantastic.

It was very unfortunate that the lift wasn’t working, and the stairwell was quite difficult to navigate.

No lifts, both were out of service, and was not notified until check in, having mobility issues meant lift access was essential and it was too late to change hotels. It was not easy and very painful having to use the stairs which impacted my whole stay.

Perfect location, brilliant atmosphere.

Central location, but peaceful nights sleep. The staff were brilliant, very attentive and personable. The room was lovely and despite being right beside a main road the noise was very minimal.

The only downside was the lift was out of order. However, the staff were on hand to help with any luggage etc.

All the staff I met were wonderful. Very friendly and helpful. Especially the lady on Reception. The bedroom was clean and comfortable.

The hotel building is looking very tired - from the flaking paintwork outside to the windows in the bedroom. All need attention.

There was no hot water for our entire stay. We wrote to the hotel afterwards to report this and they simply said they'd report it to the maintenance team.

It was in a good city centre location.

Very tired rooms and hot. We stayed on a hot weekend and there was barely any ventilation in the room (the window only opened slightly and due to the long corridors it was very stuffy). It was so hot it felt unsafe and we didn’t sleep a wink. A very uncomfortable stay.
