If you make it past the grumpy reception staff the rooms are okay

Comfortable room, with nice bathroom and interesting view

Engaged with various reception staff and all incredibly grumpy, customer Service training is clearly not included in their induction or training. A smile and a pleasant manner can go a long way, we wouldn't return purely on the basis of the dreadful reception staff.

large room in a quiet place, far away from elevator with a good view, the only thing that was okay

Swimming pool available for an additional fee (price too expensive), no parking, no information about parking on the website and The hotel's parking price is too high compared to the parking lot located next door.

Disappointed

Close to shops and restaurants.

Charge of £10pp for the pool, not shown on booking.com. was given free passes when said how disappointed we were. Pool was too hot to swim at 32deg. Area around the pool was dirty and stood on a drawing pin causing an injury. Sauna closed. Kettle leaked causing a scald. Shower floor damaged. Bed uncomfortable. Room not very clean.

Wasn't lovely but needs attention in places

Our room was 1410 it was lovely and loved the duel aspect windows Great air-conditioning and heaters. Plenty of lifts. Comfy and large bed. Fridge was great and needed. Shower lovely size.

Room needs more lighting near the wardrobes /tea facilties. No pods for coffee machine. Bath towels needs to be better quality for a 4* hotel. Hard to understand the man at reception, he spoke very quietly. Pillows were comfy but a little too soft. My husband used the gym and some of the equipment was out of order..... 3 different types . The 4th lift sounded a bit dodgy everytime we used it which was a bit concerning.

Pillows in my room were like rocks and heating didn’t work very well for a large room. Not much parking room so couldn’t park in their parking area!

I can tell what i did not like it was freezing in the room had oil plug in radiator night time could not use heating as it was set to timer… no suffering with horrible cold… would not recommend to go into this hotel!

I was travelling with my grand daughter we then had to change hotels as you couldn’t offer the facilities

I tried to cancel my booking as the spa facility wasn’t available! I use booking.com regularly and have never had a problem but in this occasion I have been dry disappointed ☹️ The customer service was very poor you couldn’t provide the facilities described in the hotel description so why would I want to stay??? I would like some feedback please.

It’s central to town

It was dirty outside- cigarette ends and rubbish strewn across the entrance way/ the pool was freezing and missing large parts of tiles- the room was equally poorly kept, the toilet roll holder was falling off and the bath and sink were cracking. The staff were overstretched and had very poor communication skills- we were given a 1 bed room for three people- then when moved we were constantly having to go downstairs as given 2 towels and now room cleaning is only ‘done by request’ we had an absolute palaver trying to get oat milk due to an allergy and the only replacements they have were coconut and soy which are also allergens. They have also increased the parking price- despite there being minimal spaces we were charged in advance for 3 days so unable to move the car. The breakfast is no longer included and an extortionate price, and now the pool is also no longer included despite it being poorly managed and freezing it’s a £10 pp overhead which is not advertised well. we were informed after complaining that the hotel is under new management, as we have stayed at this hotel many times and it is usually a wonderful experience. The new management clearly value overheads over customer satisfaction and it shows. We met a lot of other stayers who were equally displeased. We will no longer be using this hotel after years of loyal custom. It is such a shame to see a once beautiful Cardiff hotel reduced to standards of a hostel.

Rubbish waste of money

Staff very unfriendly, booked for spa rang up two weeks before stay to ask if we could go early use spa told yes, got to hotel from Bristol and told it was shut and we could cancel are booking. Then given a 3 course meal to stay sorry we were told in restaurant they don’t do a 3 course meal then main course was swimming in oil I showed the staff they just said that’s how it’s supposed to be very rude and didn’t care at all

Okay stay but don’t pay for the breakfast.

The staff were lovely, the bar area is excellent.

Our room was very dated, the heating didn’t work so it was very cold and the carpet was stained and dirty. Breakfast. Expensive and really not very nice. If included in cost then fine but it was very disappointing. The staff though were excellent.

Room delightful but freezing

The room was freezing. The heating didn’t seem to work and there were 2 radiators on but they didn’t do much good. Other than that the room was beautiful. Reception offered us the penthouse room but by the time we came back from our evening out, we felt it too late to gather all our stuff. When I returned the keys in the morning before leaving I suggested that the room was rebooked because of the heating problem but the girl serving said she felt she knew the problem - why didn’t anyone alert your maintenance team the night before?????

The was a really nice hotel that seems to have lost its way , maybe since the new owners.

I have previously used this hotel due to the good location and has a decent spa.

Sadly this visit was very disappointing , firstly rooms were not ready at 3 ok and we were late for restaurant reservation. The bar was closed at 11pm so hotel guests had no where to get a drink. Rooms are very dated ( bathrooms fine ) We were told that breakfast was £12.00 , when we went down in morning it was £16.95 - reception did not advise of this increase on arrival.

we loved to stay in Holland hotel

The room was lovely for me, though maybe a bit old-fashioned for some people. nice big room, with desk, 3 single beds, 2 chairs by the big windows, the room has big windows with over view the city. the kettle and mugs were inside the cupboard wich i like, has a tv and phone. the wc was spacious with a bath and a shower.

The windows don't seem to be double-glazed, so we could hear noises from outside and the wind.

A beautiful hotel.

We had a suite with panoramic views. It was fantastic.

The rooms are only cleaned every 3 days unless requested otherwise. I asked for our room to be cleaned but when we returned late on Saturday night it hadn’t been touched. I think the rooms should be cleaned daily.

I booked one night hoping to use spa facilities. Wasn’t told they were out of service. No pool sauna or steam room, which was my whole reason for booking The room was close to the elevators which you can hear running up and down all evening. The rooms are dated, and without the use of spa, there were only 3 channels available on the tv 1, 2 & 4! Pointless stay and waste of money

If I could pick a fault with anything… would be the extractor fan in the bathroom didn’t seem to work at its best. Leaving the mirror very misty after a shower or a lingering smell after a toilet use.
