Excellent location and great staff but rooms are small

Excellent location, friendly staff, decent breakfast, clean.

Price hike for 6 nations, bathroom door did not close, tiny bathroom (always banging arms), mattress slips off bed, train noise, poor window view.

Despite the disturbing light good place to stay

My only moan was the street light out side room107, if you speak to the council or highways they will put a shade on the hotel side of the light to stop too much light going into your rooms.It was very light even with the curtains pulled. Room etc was excellent, as was location.

Perfect for those that take advange of the public transportation.

The ultimate choice if you want to be as close to the center streets by foot as possible. Near the Central Station and the Bus Interchange (they are in the same square). Perfect for those that take advange of the public transportation. Staff was friendly. Perfect for short stay, couples or small group of friends.

The bathroom door could be more soundproofing. Not a big deal but some might find it uncomfortable.

Our weekend away.

The convenience of the hotel was perfect for the town centre and all transport access, the staff were very helpful, friendly and professional. The rooms were lovely and clean and had very comfortable beds.

It would be lovely if they served evening meals.

Right next to the station, so very easy for travel but not at all noisy.

Fantastically friendly staff, but then it is Wales so you would not expect anything else. I arrived early but they took my bags so that I could go and explore. When I returned I was checked into my very comfortable room. It overlooked the railway lines but I did not hear a train at any point during my stay in the hotel. The bed was comfy, the room was immaculately clean and the shower room was small but perfectly pleasant. There was good, fast wifi and a TV in the room although I did not use it. I had two good breakfasts and there was a bar open late for residents. I was very pleased with the location of the hotel. It gave me access to the city centre for meals and the Canopi Club where I had tickets for a series of comedy events. I felt very safe throughout my visit.

Great short stay with good staff

The room upgrade definitely made it nicer as the smaller rooms I’ve stayed in before can feel cramped so I’d definitely pay for the upgrade!.

The listing claimed a coffee maker but only a kettle was provided.

Good value and location - basic hotel but great when working

It’s got a great location and why I often return to this hotel. Staff are friendly and helpful.

Rooms are basic but you get what you pay for. Rooms could do with a refurbishment. There isn’t enough room between the bed and the desk/dressing table and bed to sit. Air con hasn’t worked during my last 2 stays and the room is hot and you can’t open the window.

Nice stay but no sleep.

The staff were lovely, helpful and supportive. The place was clean and pleasant and its the perfect location to get into town and the train station.

Even though the room was lovely and clean and spacious. We didnt get any sleep at all, there was a consistent clanging coming from the aircon/heater that was pretty loud and we were next to a staff private area (maybe a cleaning closet or something) and we could hear doors opening and closing all night and through the early morning. It just needs some noise control in the rooms.

Wonderful stay in the centre of Cardiff

Staff were lovely and welcoming, I mentioned I was in town for a funeral and the receptionist very kindly suggested some nice sights to see in Cardiff if I needed cheering up and made me aware that the staff were trained in mental health first aid in case I was in need of any support during my stay. Location could not have been better. I was pleasantly surprised considering how reasonable the price of the room was; single room was cosy, comfortable and spotlessly clean. Hotel was quiet despite being right in the centre of the city and the breakfast was great with cooked and continental options and great coffee.

Cozy Comfort

Very comfortable room. It was warm, cozy and lit in an unusual manner that gave us a snug and pleasant feeling at night. The location was perfect for us as we arrived by train and the hotel was situated right next to the train station. Breakfast in the morning included an extensive selection of food, including a Full English Breakfast and the best coffee I have had in months.

Excellent location. Avoid rooms in the basement.

The Hotel has an excellent location. Parking is in the close by train station car park. 14 pounds for 24 hours.

Most of the staff were friendly. Breakfast was reasonable. What let the Hotel down was the room. We had a room in a basement, so there was no natural light. It was also sticky and noisy in the morning, as it was opposite the cupboards where the cleaners stored their supplies. If you stay in this Hotel, make sure you do NOT get a room in the basement!

Pleasant stay in a central location, very convenient for train and accessing the city centre.

Location is spot on, very close to the train station and it's a great spot for the city centre. The rooms are fairly well sound proofed so you can't hear too much outside given how central the hotel is. Staff are vey friendly and helpful too, overall very pleasant stay.

The bathroom area could do with some form of shower curtain in one of the twin / bunk bed rooms, that aside we weren't really in the hotel that much so it was fine for a couple of nights.

The bathroom door doesn't close it needs at least a magnet to keep the door closed. The bedsheets could be cleaner.

Great location, it’s in the heart of the city centre. Part of the party district but not noisy at all. The train station is 2 mins away. Very friendly and helpful staff. Great breakfast year!

The room was tiny and the exhaust in the toilet was not working and it was not repaired even after we requested.
