There are some great things about this place - first, location. It's incredibly conventiently located, a very short walk from Cardiff Central train station. Though you don't necessarily interact with staff (it's self check-in), I did, and the woman I spoke with was really friendly and helpful. The room was clean enough, the bed was comfortable enough, and my room really had (almost) all it needed. And it was the most affordable option! If they could make a few small improvements it would go a long way.
The room was absolutely minuscule - hardly room to turn around and the toilet so small that I couldn't even shut the door. It grew on me - I got used to the size after the inital surprise, and in itself it would up not being so bad. The one major issue I had with the room and didn't get over was that the curtains were too short for the windows - windows that looked over a big, main road - which meant that at night, with the lights on in the bed, I was on full display! I used my towel to cover as much of the gap as I could, but that is a very strange thing for them to overlook. Apart from that, complaints are minor. The floor was incredibly creaky meaning I couldn't do anything quietly but hey, it's an old building, and you get used to that.
