    We stayed here for a quick one-night stopover in Cardiff, and the location could not be more perfect—it’s smack in the city centre. Because we booked the last available double room in a rush, we knew we were compromising on space, but we found the layout rather compact and tight for a 10-month-old who loves to crawl around. The historic building itself is very old and would benefit from some modernisation. There is no elevator, which made climbing the stairs to the top floor quite a trek with bags and a baby. Our fan was also broken, and with no air conditioning, we had to rely on an open window. Since you are right in the heart of the city, the nightlife outside is loud, though thankfully our baby’s white noise machine managed to block it out. That being said, the two lady receptionists were absolutely excellent! I could not fault them at all—they went out of their way to help me carry the buggy down to the front door every single time. Verdict: I would highly recommend this hotel to solo travellers or couples looking for a central, quick base for a night or two. However, I wouldn't recommend it to young families with babies or a lot of gear.

    This location is great for being central and the staff is very friendly - especially acknowledging my son's birthday. Remember there is no elevator. They keep the hotel safely locked - which I appreciated. Housekeeping isn't offered but staff will get you anything you need. Great price value and location!

    Good location for the party area of Cardiff. Fairly basic, but you get what you pay for. Down side is the cost of parking - although you do get a discount in the local NCP parking.
