The staff are all very helpful, we had nosey neighbours and asked for a room change which they arranged for us and even let us have a late checkout

The staff were all excellent but the hotel itself is a bit shabby. We had a twin room, the plug sockets between the beds didn't work and sparked when we plugged something in. The shower while spacious would fluctuate between hot and cold non stop. We were kept awake for several hours by children or young teens screaming. We thought it was in the room next to us but it felt like it was coming from the outside area of the hotel. I don't usually expect much from a hotel for one night, but I'd recommend another, slightly cheaper hotel like a Premier Inn, at least their plugs work and their rooms have some semblance of soundproofing. Another American brand being reduced to a rip off perhaps? Not surprised but still a bit disappointed.

The room was ok as was the cleanliness and breakfast. The staff were very good and did you proud. The things that weren’t quite right were £5 to use pool (perhaps better indication on web site) segregation at breakfast, why were there seats for “plebs” and seats for the “more affluent people?” Not one of our best stays but it did have a central location which was its saving grace.

Charged left right and center for things that ive never payed for at hotels- like the swimming pool,10 pound for a child to use is criminal. It was my daughters birthday and i wasn't interested in arguing but the charges just kept coming. After paying 200 for a room, that sort of smelt like sewerage. A room we were moved to by the receptionist as a treat for my daughter 16th birthday. There was the smell & the Big crack in the sink. 2 towels in the whole room Staff on desks were some of the most rude and unfriendly people I've ever met let alone in a hotel staff setting. They all look avout 16 which is fine but why so rude? Not our fault you chose to work on new years eve. 2 days later and i havent had the deposit of 25 back yet that i was told would cover things if we wanted to spend anything while we were there. Instead I was tapping my card for every single thing we asked for. Even 10 min at the spa. Probably wouldn't stay at this particular hilton again due to the staff, unfortunate as its a great hotel in a great location just had too many issues & random high charges

We had a wonderful 4 day Christmas break! Room 719 was excellent - clean, comfortable temperature. Huge comfy bed - everything you need provided. Breakfast was good every day - lots of choice. Christmas Day dinner was lovely. The staff were absolutely outstanding! Friendly, welcoming, efficient & professional

Everything was great. Especially Ceri at the front desk and boy did she know her job. Well done to you Ceri. My only disappointment was, on arrival at the spa for a swim we were asked to pay £5 each for the 3 of us to use the pool. We weren’t told that this was now a paid service and were very surprised to find out it was , right at the last minute. All said and done we had a fab time. Many thanks Clive.

Well...it was definitely one of my most exciting visits to the Hilton, between multiple fire alarms and having to change rooms early hours (it definitely got my steps in and those stairs to the 6th and 7th floor really are a weeks cardio...they are no joke) The staff are always amazing and really helped the best they could. We managed to break a chair during breakfast, which resulted in a game of musical chairs and the laughter was very much needed. I spilled water everywhere (it was one of those mornings) safe to say I'm glad the staff know us very well or it would have been embarrassing. I will say, even with all the crazy going on. The girls on the desk and the night staff where amazing, jumped into action. When we returned from the evacuation, we wouldn't enter our room due to a strong sulphur odour and even though we had to wait for another room, they really did a great job and held it all together. The young lad who helped us move room with our bags was so nice and was able to laugh with us during this funny ordeal. A dedicated and friendly staff, really make these situations easier to handle.

The hotel was great , good location . Close to bars and shops . There is no on site parking , but you can use ncp car park close by but only get 10% of stayed for less than 48 hrs but charged over £60 which is a bit pricy . The other thing we were woken up at 3.30 with the emergency alarm all guest had to evacuate , someone in the hotel must of set alarm off . We did get apology from hotel . I would stay again but may look for other hotels first due to this experience

Expensive for what it offers! Old decor with a couple of fancy lights in the bathroom. We googled if the hotel provided free parking and found that it did. Hotel does not provide free Parking!!!!! Parking around the hotel is very expensive and you would have to fend for yourself. Don’t charge me for castle view if it’s going to be behind a tree. Very bad lighting in the room. Very old carpet in the room. Expensive breakfast Very old TV didn’t have smart functions and we were stuck with limited BBC channels. Paid extra for room decorations which was a ripoff. Normal hotels do the swans on the bed without extra cost when they are told it’s for a special occasion. I paid extra £15 for fake rose petals and no swans. Awful and overpriced very old hotel.

Got a cocktail in the bar around 9pm. Asked for room number. Couldnt remember at first so got room card out of purse and gave number when drinks arrived to the table. Decided to take drinks back to our room and were followed to the lift by the female bar tender, asking me to go to the bar and sign for the drinks. Highly embarressing. I returned to the bar with the member of staff and made the full payment but will never stay at this hotel again. Was made to feel in front of other guests that we intended to not pay. Do not expect that sort of service at a high end hotel. To make matters worse, the coctails werent even very nice and we both left them. What a waste of £22 and poor service.

Room overall was good, apart from peeling wallpaper and mould around the window. The room was overlooking a busy street, which was very noisy, especially at night, even though we were on the 5th floor! I suspect the window needs looking at, as we could hear lots of noise and could also be the cause of the mould around the window.

The room was ok but lacked drawer space, who needs ironing boards & irons on a city break? but a towel rail in the bathroom & a couple more hooks would be helpful! A big cupboard to hold a mini fridge but no fridge, so stupid when hotels in Europe all provide the same! The drinks prices in the bar are ridiculously expensive too! We stayed 2 nights the whole thing felt a bit soulless but functional thank goodness for Bassam on duty in the breakfast room this morning, as on our first morning it was chaos! Everything was running out food & cups, teapots etc! Bassam wassuper efficient, supervising youngsters who just stand around without a clue, but friendly & helpful too! Give the man a reward.

The room was cleaner than clean, light and airy. The staff were helpful, informative and friendly. I had a small issue with one of the locked window being slightly open, allowing cold air in, but this was dealt with same day by a member of the maintenance with no fuss. The gym and pool were great. There were decent breakfast options all of which was freshly prepared. Only real complaint was the size of the duvet could have been larger given it was a king size bed I'd have expected the duvet to match, but thanks to the air-conditioning it wasn't a major issue.
