Hotel was lovely and clean with very helpful staff

On arrival allocated lower ground floor room. Refurbishment work being done to bathrooms and wa told all baths are in process if being re-enameled . Strong pungent oil based paint smell throughout ground floor rooms - when this when is being done floors not suitable dor guest stays in such close proximity. We reported it to reception and were moved to the 4th floor with no smell. Rooms lovely clean and spacious 9am breakfast was a little bare.. but now was cooked when asked for. It was a week day stay. Restaurant area lovely, bright, airy with lake view. Appreciate up keep has to be maintained but there was no notice of works underway on website. The rooms were roasting hot 🔥! Rooms did have fans but not adequate. Windows when opened let in a lot of road traffic noise.

The size of the room was decent

They had rude members of staff with no etiquette of how to establish communication with customers. All of them just speak over you and read scripted sentences. I personally heard them repeat word for word the exact same conversation to the 2 guests that were behind us. They also lack hygiene in their rooms. Stayed for 2 days and didnt have not 1 single cleaner visit during our stay. NEVER will I book this out of touch place again.

Bad experience, don’t let the photos fool you

Gave me a basement room… next to the walk way of the car park… anyone can break into my room at anytime. So insecure!!! People outside walked pass my room several times very annoyed. Can’t even open the blind… so sad that I paid 62 quid for this kind of service. We got 2 people but only 1 big towel? Outdated furniture… completely ruin our holiday in Cardiff, better book a different one somewhere else. We booked this hotel beca of the car park and the pond view. Not even got a change to see the pond with the basement room… We left this hotel asap in the morning…

I didn't realise how close to main junction of area, with quite loud traffic noise and sirens till quite late. Had to keep windows closed all night, so room quite warm. Maybe have a different room next time.

Local and parking was convenient. Breakfast was really good.

Room wasn’t to 4* expectation - bathroom sink was blocked, really cheap toilet paper, no tissue box available, dressing table very small - would have been better to have a large mirror above desk. Bed was too hard for me, but that’s personal choice.

Ideal location and dog friendly.

The hotel is dog friendly and the staff were very accommodating. They always acknowledged us and our dog. Quiet location despite having one of the main roads into Cardiff Bay on the doorstep. Great buffet breakfast and bar menu. A few dog walking routes around the hotel grounds.

For what we needed to do in Cardiff it was ideal , plenty of parking spaces , taxi fare into Cardiff but expensive .Facilities were bit basic but then we don’t do pools and spa , so ideal for us, Room comfortable although a little on the basic side ,but then the tariff was very reasonable for a hotel in Cardiff .Staff friendly and welcoming , will stay again

Overpriced for what it is. Staff good tho

Staff were very helpful. The room needs a refurb. Massive gaps in bath panel. No plug so couldn't have a bath.and the room was very dated. Room was large but dated. There where 2 TVs. The smaller one worked which was in front but bigger one didn't. Only 1 packet of biscuits with the coffee. All in all. It's over priced for what it is. Staff made up for a lack of detail and finesse.

Everyone was so helpful after our bad experience with a Airbnb. bed was really comfy stuff was so friendly and funny 😁 clean the bath was amazing for my girlfriend and the views was absolutely amazing

Great hotel for a city break with family.

The location was great for a family, shops nearby with everything you would need, but not noisy or overly busy. Hotel staff were all nice and helpful. Child friendly, lots of space. Great breakfast with lots of options and a really nice dining room overlooking the lake.

The room was a little hot for my liking, but not unbearable and more than made up for by the quality of the hotel.

It was ideal for my short business trip and I will definitely stay again when visiting Cardiff.

The staff were very cheerful & courteous. The evening meal choices were very good and the breakfast was also quite tasty. The room was recently renovated I would think and the shower was excellent.

Lovely overnight stay

Room was lovely and on the ground floor. Decor a little tired, but room totally functional. Bed really comfy; had a good night's sleep and room temperature was just right. Staff were helpful; especially as they sorted out our parking eye fine, which was incorrect as we stayed at the hotel. Breakfast was lovely. We will stay again

Clear signage when you check in to remind guests about registering your car on a screen. We were asked to write it on a piece log paper. Few days after our return we had a fine letter from Parking Eye. Apparently we should have tapped our car Reg into an electronic screened, but we never saw one. as noted above it was swiftly resolved by the hotel. No other negatives.
